Why Bet on the Princeton Tigers?

The Tigers pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the competition. Princeton sent home No. 2 seed Arizona in a narrow 59-55 win. Tosan Evbuoman performed for his team with 15 points, seven boards, and four assists, while seven other players scored at least six points in the game. But, it was the team’s defense that did it against Arizona at the end, getting a handful of stops to prevent the favorites from gaining momentum.

Princeton kept things going and carried out another upset against No. 2 seed Missouri, 78 to 63, thanks to an impressive offensive showcase. The Tigers hit 12 of their 33 attempts from deep, with Ryan Langborg leading his team with 22 points. Caden Pierce showed up with 16 rebounds, while Matt Allocco added ten points to the scoreboard with seven assists.

As impressive as Princeton’s attacks, they still need to keep both ends of the system running to beat Creighton. Tosan is the team’s main stimulant and imposes himself on opposing frontcourts. If he can link up with Keeshawn Kellman while guards Matt Allocco and Blake Peters fire on all cylinders, we might just witness a closely-contested game from start to finish.

Why Bet on the Creighton Blue Jays?

Creighton dealt with major injury issues heading up to the Sweet 16, both delivering wins. Big man Ryan Kalkbrenner erupted with 31 points in the win over the Wolfpack, while Ryan Nembhard followed it up with a 30-point performance to beat the Bears. More than that, the Bluejays uphold their status as a top-ten team in the preseason. While Kakbreener’s illness forged roadblocks midway through the run, it looks like coach McDermott worked his way around things and put the team back on track.

The Bluejays currently average 76.8 points on 46.9% shooting while allowing 67.9 points on 42% shooting. Defensively, Kalkbrenner averages nearly 16 points and six boards per game, while Trey Alexander joins him in the double-digit range with 13.5 points and 4.1 rebounds. Baylor Scheierman is the third-best scorer on the roster.

On paper, the Bluejays take the win with better figures. There isn’t a clear player that can completely fill in for Kalkbrenner, but things eventually worked out for the team. Nevertheless, we know that this lineup is capable of running the show. This game can easily go their way if they defend the three-point line.

Princeton vs. Creighton Expert Prediction

Creighton is loaded with offensive options and size. This allows the team to dominate the interior and put an end to Princeton’s Cinderella story. The Tigers endured shaky defense in the second round with Mizzou relying on inconsistent mid-range shots and squeezed by a mediocre Arizona offense. On the contrary, the Bluejays just took down a strong Baylor Bears side thanks to dependable shooting from close range, the free-throw line, and from deep. As tempting as it may be to back another Princeton win, Creighton is the better pick on paper. But, the Tigers covering the spread is an easy choice given their recent performances.
