There are plenty of rumors surrounding trade possibilities for the Sacramento Kings’ fourth-overall pick at the 2022 NBA Draft already. While the Kings are basically in win-now mode after landing a blockbuster trade for Domantas Sabonis amidst the 2021-22 regular season, there’s still plenty of value to be had with their first-round pick regardless if they decide to trade away their prized draft asset for more experienced players instead.
Nitrobetting is ready to dish out some timely assists to our bettors all throughout the 2022 NBA Playoffs and beyond. This time, let’s take a moment to look ahead at the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft and the three best rookie prospects that the Sacramento Kings will strongly consider drafting with the No. 4 overall pick.

PF Paolo Banchero – Duke
In an ideal world, the Kings would be glad to grab someone like Paolo Banchero with the fourth-overall pick. Banchero, the reigning ACC Freshman of the Year, is a dynamic forward that was thought well by none other than legendary Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and could fill in the starting PF position in place of underachieving Trey Lyles and overpaid Harrison Barnes. However, many experts expect the Rockets to take Banchero one spot ahead of Sacramento, which stands to reason why the Kings are shopping their No. 4 pick around the league.
PF Keegan Murray – Iowa
Another power forward who could end up being a huge upgrade for the Kings is Keegan Murray, who broke out in his sophomore season in Iowa averaging 23.5 points on 55.4-percent shooting from the field. Murray also averages 8.7 boards per game as the consensus first-team All-American selection and has all the makings of being Sacramento’s next promising big man since drafting DeMarcus Cousins in 2010.
SG Jaden Ivey – Purdue
Although the Kings already have a solid 1-2 foundation with De’Aaron Fox and Davion Mitchell, they should still consider adding more backcourt depth with highly sought-after guard Jaden Ivey out of Purdue. Ivey has averaged double digits in scoring in each of his two seasons with the boilermakers, culminating with his 17.3 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 3.1 APG sophomore campaign. Ivey has the basketball IQ that translates well in the pros that teams behind them in this year’s draft such as the Pistons and the Pacers would be more than happy to fall off of Sacramento’s radar.
