This is underdog Julie Gervais’ first match since playing at the Internationaux de Strasbourg in mid-May. Gervais won 2-of-3 in that tournament. Favored Aranxta Ruse lost her first Wimbledon match to Catherine Harris via a 1-6, 4-6 score, which is the reason she’s able to play in the Grand Est Open 88 this week. Ruse is 18-18 in singles matches this season and should make quick work of her opponent. Laying the -6.5 makes sense.

Garcia is the better play, though, because she has a winning 18-16 singles record this season.
