Top Tennis Betting Picks of the Week – March 6th, 2023

By Hank Blaine

Tennis matches this week pick it up big time on Thursday. This week’s tournament, the BNP Paribas Open, takes place at Indian Wells, California. First round action happens on Wednesday and Thursday. Check out three fantastic ATP and three terrific WTA matches, along with tennis odds and picks, for the BNP Paribas Open.

Top Tennis Betting Picks of the Week (March 6th, 2023)

ATP – BNP Paribas Open – Indian Wells, California

Dominic Thiem vs. Adrian Mannarino

Thiem isn’t playing great tennis. Dominic has yet to get back on track after an injury in 2021. In his last, Thiem fell to Christian Garin at the Movistar Chile Open.

Adrian Mannarino lost his last first round match as well. But Mannarino is 7-6 in singles matches so far this season while Dominic is 1-6. Adrian gets the nod.

Tennis Betting Pick: Adrian Mannarino -108

Mackenzie McDonald vs. Filip Krajinovic

The chalk in this won a couple of matches at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel before falling in the quarterfinals. McDonald beat Luciano Darderi and Brandon Nakashima before losing to Tommy Paul.

Filip Krajinovic couldn’t get by Andrey Rublev in the first round at the Dubai Duty Free in his last. Krajinovic is solid, but McDonald is 11-6 in singles matches this season.

Tennis Betting Pick: Mackenzie McDonald -244

Ben Shelton vs. Fabio Fognini

20-year-old Ben Shelton lost to 4-seed Holger Rune in the first round at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in the last. Shelton is a massive favorite over Fabio Fognini on Thursday because Fognini is 1-5 in singles contests this season.

Fognini does have a doubles’ victory, though. Still, Shelton has the look of one of those tough, up-and-coming players. Ben gets the win.

Tennis Betting Pick: Ben Shelton -370

WTA – BNP Paribas Open – Indian Wells, California

Sloane Stephens vs. Sofia Kenin

Both players aren’t at the top of their games. Sofia Kenin is 5-6 this season. She lost to Maria Bouzkova at the Dubai Duty Free in her last.

At the ATX Open in Austin in her last, Sloane Stephens won her first two matches, beating Taylor Townsend and Heather Watson, before falling to Varvara Gracheva.

Stephens is 4-5 this season in singles matches. But her form could turn around at any moment. Sloane is the pick.

Tennis Betting Pick: Sloane Stephens -110

Yulia Putintseva vs. Karolína Muchová

Putintseva versus Muchova should be a terrific match. The chalk in this played terrific tennis at the Dubai Duty Free, beating Bernarda Pera, Sorana Cirstea, and Belinda Bencic before losing to Jessica Pegula.

The loss to Pegula was a walkover, which brings up whether Muchova is one-hundred percent heading into this. Yulia Putintseva is 7-7 in singles matches this season. At the odds, and because of the questions surrounding Muchova’s form, Putintseva is worth backing.

Tennis Betting Pick: Yulia Putintseva +178

Tamara Korpatsch vs. Danielle Collins

Korpatsch hasn’t won a singles match this season. Tamara is 0-7 in singles contests.

At the ATX Open in her last tournament played, Danielle Collins made it to the semifinals where she fell to Marta Kostyuk. Collins has the ability to dominate opponents like Korpatsch. Laying the games on Danielle makes sense.

Tennis Betting Pick: Danielle Collins -6.5 -116
