Top Tennis Betting Picks of the Week – September 19th, 2022
The top tennis players appear to be taking the week off from singles play. But although players like Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic won’t throw down in singles tournaments this week, it doesn’t mean there isn’t any tennis action. Starting on Tuesday, excellent players from the ATP step onto courts for the Moselle Open’s first round. See below for opening tennis odds, analysis, and free picks for six fantastic matches at the 2022 Moselle Open.

ATP – Moselle Open – Metz, France
Mikael Ymer vs. Adrian Mannarino
Swede Mikael Ymer hasn’t fared well in his last couple of singles tournament. He lost in the first round to Jannik Sinner at the U.S. Open. Then in the tournament before, the Winston-Salem Open, Marc-Andrea Huesler knocked out Ymer in the second round. Adrian Mannarino made it all the way to the Winston-Salem Open Finals, losing to Laszlo Djere. Ymer has a shot, but this is the type of tournament where Mannarino excels.
Tennis Betting Pick: Adrian Mannarino -161
Ugo Humbert vs. Benjamin Bonzi
Slight dog Benjamin Bonzi and chalk Ugo Humbert face off in a rematch of their thrilling first round battle at the U.S. Open. Humbert and Bonzi played five sets and a tiebreaker that went to Benjamin. The underdog in this bested Humbert 7-6 (7-1), 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 6-2. The odds difference doesn’t justify a bet on Humbert. Bonzi might have the edge since he won the last head-to-head.
Tennis Betting Pick: Benjamin Bonzi +108
Richard Gasquet vs. Dominic Thiem
Try as he might, Dominic Thiem doesn’t have it anymore. He could bounce back, but his form is awful this year. Thiem is 0-2 in singles matches. Richard Gasquet won a couple of matches at the U.S. Open and made it all the way to the Winston-Salem Open Quarterfinals. Gasquet gets the nod.
Tennis Betting Pick: Richard Gasquet -116
Jaume Munar vs. Arthur Rinderknech
Underdog Jaume Munar hasn’t made it past the second round since the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad back in July. At the Swiss Open, Munar pushed U.S. Open runner up Casper Ruud. Munar lost in straight sets, but Casper required a couple of tiebreakers to get by Munar.
Arthur Rinderknech won his first U.S. Open match, but he lost to Daniil Medvedev in the second. The favorite’s past performances at tournaments at this level doesn’t suggest he’s worth backing at the odds. The dog is worth a look.
Tennis Betting Pick: Jaume Munar +147
Aslan Karatsev vs. Lorenzo Sonego
The seeded player is the underdog in this match. 6-seed Aslan Karatsev has lost 3-of-4 opening round singles matches. Underdog Lorenzo Sonego gets the benefit of the doubt, but he hasn’t played much better than Karatsev. Not only that, but Sonego is 0-4 versus the chalk. Karatsev should win this.
Tennis Betting Pick: Aslan Karatsev -118
Hugo Gaston vs. Sebastian Korda
The huge underdog in this contest has lost 3 straight first round matches. Gaston fell to Alexander Bublik at the U.S. Open’s first round in his last. Korda beat Facundo Bagnis in his first round match at the U.S. Open.
At the Western Southern Open, Korda beat two U.S. Open semifinalists in Karen Khachanov and Frances Tiafoe. The chalk is 23-17 in singles titles this year. The 22-year-old favorite has a bright future and should handle Gaston.
Tennis Betting Pick: Sebastian Korda -370
