Top Utah Jazz Coaching Candidates
After eight seasons and postseason appearances in each of the last six years, Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder has recently resigned from his position and leaves the organization having won 59 percent of Utah’s regular-season games yet also failing to make it as far as the Western Conference Finals in all six attempts. Expectations are high in Salt Lake considering the tremendous work of Snyder and Jerry Sloan before him, and the basketball fanbase is eagerly awaiting the Jazz’s appointed successor for next season.
Nitrobetting is ready to dish out some timely assists to our bettors all throughout the 2022 NBA Playoffs and beyond. This time, let’s look ahead and take a look at the three best options the Utah Jazz have for their vacant head coach position following the resignation of Quin Snyder.

Terry Stotts
One former NBA head coach that’s being brought up quite often for the Jazz’s head-coaching gig is Terry Stotts, who recently saw respectable success at the helm of the Portland Trail Blazers. The 64-year-old mentor is a hot commodity as we speak, as he’s been strongly considered for the Lakers’ and the Hornets’ vacancies. Stotts led the Blazers to seven straight playoff appearances between 2013 and 2021, including one trip to the Conference Finals in 2019.
Mike D’Antoni
Another tenured candidate who could return to the head-coaching spotlight is Brooklyn Nets assistant head coach Mike D’Antoni, whose notorious brand for high-tempo, high-octane offenses could revitalize the Jazz’s scheme and energy. Hiring D’Antoni, on the other hand, pretty much would signal the end of Rudy Gobert’s tenure in Salt Lake with him being a superior defender albeit lacking in offensive firepower fit for D’Antoni’s run-and-gun schemes. Donovan Mitchell will likely have a banner 2022-23 season in the process as a decent trade-off, though.
Will Hardy
Similar to Snyder, Will Hardy could be selected to take over the reigns in Utah despite not having prior experience as an NBA head coach. Hardy’s name has certainly gotten even more traction of late considering his current stint as the top assistant for the Eastern Conference champions, the Boston Celtics. Hardy earned his job in Boston after acquiring his basketball IQ under the tutelage of future Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs; another franchise that has immense title-winning experience under its belt.
