What To Know About The 2023 NBA Draft

Draft day is fast approaching. Victor Wembanyama is locked in on the top pick and headed out to San Antonio, Texas, to play for legendary coach Gregg Popovic and the Spurs. The San Antonio Spurs won the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery, their first top pick since Tim Duncan in 1997. Outside of the French phenom, the list of prospects is as awe-inspiring as ever with names like Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson, Amen Thompson, and Nick Smith Jr. expected to make their NBA debut in the 2023-24 campaign.

2023 NBA Draft Schedule and Broadcast Channels

The 77th edition of the NBA’s annual draft will be held on June 22, 2023, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Catch the 2023 NBA Draft at ESPN and ABC (First Round only). The event begins at 8:00 PM ET. Aside from when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to host a virtual draft of the event in 2020, the venue hosted every NBA Draft since 2013.

A total of 58 picks rather than the familiar 60 due to the loss of a second-round pick for the Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers for breaching the league’s tampering rules during free agency. This is the second consecutive season where the NBA Draft features two fewer picks than the normal 60 following franchise violations.
