The Baylor Bears won the 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament by beating the Gonzaga Bulldogs, 86-70. It’s Baylor’s first national title since 1948 as head coach Scott Drew finally sent his boys from Waco to the promised land in his 17th year on the job.

The Bears are back to their usual business this 2021-22 season as they’re currently in a race with the Kansas Jayhawks and the Texas Tech Raiders for the best record in the Big 12. They’re on a four-game winning streak heading into their final game of the regular season hosting the sixth-place Iowa State Cyclones on March 5.

Favorites to Win the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Title

As of this writing, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are the frontrunners to win the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball national tournament. As we’d recall, the Bulldogs were the runners-up in last year’s March Madness campaign and they remain one of the biggest powerhouse programs in all of college basketball.

Ever since head coach Mark Few took over the team in 1999, Gonzaga has won a total of 15 conference championships in the WCC. They’ve been one win away from winning the national title on two occasions (2021 and 2017) and have reached the Sweet 16 round of the national tournament in each of the last six seasons. Thus, earning the team its rightful claim as the odds-on favorite to win its first-ever national title in school history after being such a dominant force in the scene since under the Mark Few era.
