5. Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill is deep into the 2016 draft list. He entered the league as the Round five and 165th overall pick. The Georgia native bounced from one college to another and was dismissed from the Oklahoma State program after issues with domestic assault and battery charges. These issues followed Hill before his professional career, causing his stock value to drop. Nonetheless, looking at his on-field production alone leads everyone to believe that he is one of the top draft steals in NFL history. He worked his way to become the most explosive pass-catcher we’ve seen in decades. Hill also featured in the Pro Bowl five times and is a three-time first-team All-Pro.

4. Shannon Sharpe

Sharpe was a seventh-round and 192nd pick in 1990. He eventually became the first tight end to record 10,000 receiving yards. Spending almost a decade with the Broncos led to two Super Bowl titles for himself and the franchise. Sharpe signed with Baltimore in 2000 and had an imposing run with the Ravens in a season. He managed to help the Ravens score their first championship. Sharpe returned to the Broncos where he eventually retired. As a player, he makes the best NFL draft steals in history with a loaded portfolio that features three Super Bowl championships, four first-team All-Pro, and eight Pro Bowl appearances.

3. Dak Prescott

Prescott spent four years at Mississippi State before getting drafted in 2016. But, the quarterback only managed to get into the league as a fourth-round and 135th overall pick. Despite that, Prescott proved that he has what it takes to be the face of the franchise. He led the league in passing yards before suffering a broken ankle in 2020. So far, he documents 22,083 passing yards and 143 passing touchdowns in his career. Prescott was not the Cowboys’ initial target. Nevertheless, he proved himself as a worthy starter for the team and continues to build his legacy in the league.

2. Joe Montana

Montana entered the league in 1979 as a third-round pick and 82nd overall. He spent 13 years with the San Francisco 49ers and his last two playing years with Kansas City Chiefs. Now part of the Hall of Fame list, the man from Notre Dame joined Terry Bradshaw as the only two quarterbacks to secure four Super Bowl titles before the Tom Brady era. Although Montana is hardly known for his stats, he made a name by stepping up in the biggest moments. Joe Montana appears in the 1980s team of the decade and the 100th-anniversary team to go with his decorated career highlights and awards.

1. Tom Brady

Brady was a sixth-round pick in the year 2000. He made a name for himself since joining the NFL and will eventually retire with the most Super Bowl appearances, wins, and MVPs at ten, seven, and five, respectively. He is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. The league first took notice after Brady replaced an injured Drew Bledsoe in the second game of the 2001 season and eventually led the Patriots to six Lombardi trophies. Furthermore, since his departure from the Patriots, he led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.
