Who Are the Favorites to Win the 2021 Geico 500?

Danny Hamlin

The current leader heads into Talladega as the top favorite. He’s already won in this track back in October 2020, making it the first time Toyota wins at the track since 2014. And an even more fun fact, Denny Hamlin won that race as well. So there’s no doubt experience is one his side. Let’s see if he can get his first win this season.

Joey Logano

Logano is also no stranger to Talladega, winning the race back in 2018. His performance this season has been good, being in the top 10 in all the races except for two, and he won the Food City Dirt Race in March, making it his only victory so far this season. He can definitely bring competition this weekend.

Ryan Blaney

Blaney comes in as last year’s winner in the Geico 500. He won the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 last month. Ford has had a good run in this track, winning 10 of the last 13 races. It wouldn’t be strange to see Blaney take this race as well.

Chase Elliot

One of the drivers who’s tied in the odds is Chase Elliot, one who’s been on the Geico 500 before. His last victory on this track was in 2019. Currently, Elliot is favorite to win the NASCAR Cup Series this season. He might just get his first one on Sunday.

Brad Keselowski

Another veteran and three-time Geico 500 winner Brad Keselowski is also tied with Elliot. So far, he hasn’t been able to take a win yet, same as Elliot, Hamlin, Harvick and Kyle Busch. This might be his chance to improve his position on the board. He’s still in the top 10 right now, but that could change this weekend if he doesn’t step up.
