2021 Quaker State 400 NASCAR Odds, Preview, and Prediction

By Carlos Chacon

The NASCAR season carries on with the 2021 Quaker State 400, coming off of last week’s Jockey Made in America 250. Drivers line up at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second time this year on Sunday. This is the last theme the Cup Series will follow the current configuration and old surface in the track before Speedway Motorsports announced major updates to the track. Atlanta features a 1.5-mile oval with wide sweeping turns and several racing groves. It is notorious for wearing out tires fast and we expect more pitstops than usual in Sunday’s race.

It was Cole Custer who crossed the line first last year. He did it in style after leading for only five laps since the green flag was waved and started in the 29th spot. The 23-year-old driver enters the competition as an underdog, but the previous race tells us that anything can happen in this track.

With that, NitroBetting supplies you with a comprehensive NASCAR: Quaker State 400 preview. We provide you with the event details, the latest driver information, and NASCAR odds, and our very own expert predictions–all of which are geared toward the best picks. Who Are the Favorites to Win the 2021 Quaker State 400?

Kyle Larson

Larson leads the favorites in this race as he starts 6th in the grid. Larson led 269 of the 325 laps in the first race at Atlanta for the Cup Series only to lose the lead late in the race following tire issues. He now gets a chance at redemption and back on the winning track after blowing the field away at the first Cup race in March. Larson collected 3 victories on 1.5-mile ovals in the Cup Series. He also topped the best green flag speed record at Atlanta in the last race and looks on pace to see the checkered flag first this Sunday.

Kyle Busch

The driver of the No. 18 Toyota Camry starts Sunday’s race from the 2nd position and is another frontrunner for the favorites. Busch gets the early advantage and rolls off from the second position. Over the last 6 races in Atlanta in the Cup Series, Busch managed to collect 4 top 10 finishes and 2 top 5 finishes. He recorded the third-best green flag speed at the QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta earlier this year. Moreover, we will find Kyle racing in Saturday’s Xfinity Series at Atlanta, which means he gets some more seat time before heading into the race the next day.

Who are the Sleepers to Win the 2021 Quaker State 400?

Daniel Suarez

Suarez makes his way to the sleepers list despite an underwhelming performance in the 2021 Jockey Made in America 250 where he came in 36th overall. This put a stop to his streak of three-straight top 15 finishes, including a seventh-place finish in the 2021 Ally 400. His account at the Atlanta Motor Speedway involved five starts, one top 10 finish, and three top 20 finishes. In his last race at the track, he went 12th during the 2021 Folds of Honor QuickTrip 500. He might not have the best numbers in the pack, but he can deliver surprising results when he starts firing on all cylinders.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Stenhouse Jr. currently holds 19th overall in the standings this season. Despite trying to better his position this season, he finished 38th in the 2021 Pocono 350. But the driver of the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro bounced back as he finished 12th in the 2021 Jockey Made in America 250 race. This gives him some more positive momentum before Sunday’s event. Stenhouse has shown impressive skills at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he records a career average finish of 17.11 in nine starts.

Expert’s Prediction for the 2021 Quaker State 400 NASCAR Cup Series Race

Kyle Larson has been on fire lately and is among the favorites to win the race. But the grid is packing some heat this time around with several drivers on pace to get the win. This can be anyone’s race if everyone puts their best foot forward, with several underdogs looking great as well. Nonetheless, we are in for another thriller and more memorable moments in this year’s NASCAR: Quaker State 400.
