2022 Ally 400 Sleeper Picks

By Hank Blaine

The drivers are fresh and energized after a week off. And this weekend, the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series resumes as drivers return to Nashville Superspeedway for the Ally 400. The track recently hosted the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and it’s back for another weekend of action. Additionally, the 1.33-mile track had its first shot at hosting a NASCAR Cup Series race last season.

This year’s NASCAR season brings more unpredictable elements to the mix. In turn, it makes for exciting motorsport and betting action. Another streak of sleepers surprised us after taking one victory after another. As the campaign unfolds in one of the newest and unanticipated tracks, Nitrobetting is excited to share a different take on the event.

That said, here are our top sleeper picks for 2022 Ally 400.

Kevin Harvick

  • 2022 Ally 400 Odds: +2000

Let’s get the negatives out of the way. Harvick is on a string of poor finishes right now, but that’s not enough to drive us away from his potential. The numbers tell a different story. He’s been consistent lately with top-four finishes in his last five races and finished fifth in the 2021 Ally 400.

The streak is bound to snap. “Happy Harvick” starts to warm up going into Nashville. In fact, writing down positive results on the same track might help him lift his confidence. The 46-year-old racing driver holds a pair of Xfinity Series wins in his portfolio in 2006 and 2010, both at Nashville. He also recorded a fourth-place finish at a similar track in Darlington and ninth at Dover a week before that.

Daniel Suarez

  • 2022 Ally 400 Odds: +2800

The 30-year-old Mexican driver is still on a high after his first career Cup win. After mishaps and poor performances throughout his career, Suarez exceeded the expectations of many at the Nashville Superspeedway. He finished seventh in the track last season and tenth at Dover. He will pilot the No. 99 car for Trackhouse Racing Team this weekend, which showed tremendous potential in his recent outing.

Suarez scoring a victory at Sonoma two weeks ago sheds more light on his skill. It was clear that he operates well in concrete tracks. Furthermore, since recording positive results in Dover, there’s a good chance for Suarez to pick up good momentum this weekend and potentially outpace his teammate. They have confidence heading into a track that fits their setup last year, with success on similar tracks this year as well.

Aric Almirola

  • 2022 Ally 400 Odds: +4000

Driving for Stewart-Haas Racing and making his way into the sleeper picks for the Ally 400 is Aric Almirola. He’s not exactly coming from a breakthrough season. While he found significant success and made the playoffs thanks to a surprise victory at New Hampshire, it all started to crumble for him towards the end of the calendar. Nevertheless, we see more consistent results from the Cuban driver as he holds onto the 11th position in the standings.

We look forward to Almirola pulling off a rebound season. His rating tells us that he drives a very competitive car after Larson. He’s tied with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. with the second-best average running position.

Almirola does well on flat tracks. Having this in his arsenal for the weekend, including a morale-boosting fifth-place finish at Gateway gives the veteran driver a worthy sleeper pick. Don’t count him out yet. Almirola’s odds present plenty of value.
