Since this is the first NASCAR race in the St. Louis area, we don’t know how well any of these drivers will perform over the track. What we do know is Coca-Cola 600 winner Denny Hamlin is on fire.

Hamlin not only won the Coke 600, but he also won the pole. Leading up to the race, Hamlin had finished second in the All-Star event and fourth at Kansas. So Denny and his crew have been making the right decisions for weeks. It’s tough to win a single race, much less two straight. But when a vet like Hamlin gets it going, he can keep it going for a while. We’re giving Denny the nod.

Anybody who loves NASCAR had to feel for Kyle Busch. He had Denny in his crosshairs, but he couldn’t get by his teammate. There’s a good chance Hamlin holds off Busch again, which is why we’ve made Kyle our second choice.

Before the second place finish in Charlotte, Busch had finished third at Kansas. At Dover, Busch finished second. So if we discount the thirty-third at Dover, that was an anomaly for this driver and crew, and if we don’t count the All-Star race, Busch is in great form.

Kyle can turn the tables on Hamlin. The guess here is that he doesn’t. But if you like him, the odds are fair. So go for it.

Elliott and his crew have had a rough three weeks. Chase followed up the twenty-ninth at Kansas with a twenty-three in the All-Star Race. Last Sunday in Charlotte, Elliott finished thirty-third.But before writing Elliott off, it’s important to realize how well his crew and he were performing before the string of bad finishes. Elliott finished fifth at Darlington, and he won at Dover. Hendrick will be looking to take the checkered flag on Sunday. Don’t be surprised if their efforts push Elliott into the winner’s circle.

Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2022 Enjoy Illinois 300

Harvick and his crew have gotten it together. The fifteenth at Kansas wasn’t bad. The seventeenth in the All-Star Race doesn’t mean much. The ninth at Dover and the fourth at Darlington were fantastic.

Then in the Coca-Cola 600 last Sunday, Team Harvick crossed the finish line third. Kevin Harvick is one of the best drivers ever to sit behind the wheel in a NASCAR event. If Harvick and his team keep it up, crossing the finish line first is a matter of time.
