2021 Toyota Save Mart Recap

Martin Truex Jr. could be sitting on a huge race. Although Truex Jr. has yet to take a checkered flag this season, he gets to drive over a track he knows well. At the 2021 Toyota Save Mart 350, Truex Jr. finished third. He finished sixth at Worldwide Technology Raceway last week. In the race before last, Truex Jr. crossed the finish line in twelfth. Before that, he finished fourteenth in the All Star Race and sixth at Kansas. Truex Jr. and his crew are ready to grab their first checkered flag of the year. The Joe Gibbs driver is the top pick.

Top Choice to Win the 2022 Toyota Save Mart 350

Since this is the first NASCAR race in the St. Louis area, we don’t know how well any of these drivers will perform over the track. What we do know is Coca-Cola 600 winner Denny Hamlin is on fire.

Hamlin not only won the Coke 600, but he also won the pole. Leading up to the race, Hamlin had finished second in the All-Star event and fourth at Kansas. So Denny and his crew have been making the right decisions for weeks. It’s tough to win a single race, much less two straight. But when a vet like Hamlin gets it going, he can keep it going for a while. We’re giving Denny the nod.

Second Top Choice to Win the 2022 Toyota Save Mart 350

Joey Logano is starting to heat up. His pattern is to score a top five finish and then cross the line fifteenth or worse. But on Sunday, Joey, who won at World Wide Technology Raceway last Sunday, could break the pattern. Logano finished fourth at last year’s Toyota Save Mart 350. His odds should be closer to Truex Jr.’s than the +1800.

Joey and his crew are in great form. The +1800 makes him an overlay. So if you’re looking for a price play on a legit shot to take home the trophy, Joey Logano is you’re man.

Third Top Choice to Win the 2022 Toyota Save Mart 350

In last year’s Toyota Save Mart 350, Kyle Busch finished fifth. Busch could win the race on Sunday, but he was inconsistent until the last couple of races. At World Wide Technology Raceway, Busch finished second. In the race before, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, Busch also finished second.

Kyle finished third at Kansas and he won over Bristol’s dirt. Busch is yet another who could cross the finish line first in this. Throw him into the mix for the

Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2022 Toyota Save Mart 350

When it comes to underdogs in the Toyota Save Mart 350, few present as good of an opportunity to cash as Alex Bowman. The Hendrick Motorsports driver finished thirteenth in the last event. Before the thirteenth, Bowman finished tenth in the Coca-Cola 600. Alex finished sixth in the All-Star Race and ninth at Kansas.

In this event last year, Alex finished a respectable ninth. Should Bowman win? No. But if you’re looking to back an underdog, he might be the one to back.
