Netherlands vs. United States

• When: Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. 10am EST.

Maybe, the World Cup wants to save U.S. fans the embarrassment of a mid-afternoon loss. In any case, Dutch versus Americans kicks off the knockout stage with an intriguing, but what some believe will be a lopsided affair on Saturday.

Gregg Berhalter, the United States’ manager, is a fantastic strategist. He provided a clinic on how to keep a better team from scoring a goal in the draw versus England. The tactics won’t work against the Netherlands because the Dutch are a more cohesive group than the English.

Beating Denmark is a huge deal for France. Christian Eriksen and the Danes had handed the French a loss in 3 straight. So winning the match was big.M

France has confidence heading into the knockout stage. The issue for the French will be how, or if, they can cover the handicap versus a Poland side that has more than Robert Lewandowski.

England beat up Iran and Wales but struggled against the U.S. For some reason the English feel fragile. They’ve got that deer in the headlights look when they face a team they’re not one-hundred percent sure they can beat.

Senegal is a quality squad. The Senagalese play with patience and zero fear. Will Senegal beat England? Probably not. But they have a much better shot than +660 so the odds make the dog an overlay.

In any case, we know Brazil is in. So the Brazilians win this match no matter who they face. We though it would have been Ghana, who has shown way more fire than Uruguay. But if it would have any of the other teams, Brazil still wins.

Morocco vs. Spain

• When: Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. 10am EST.
• 2022 FIFA World Cup Odds: Morocco (+604) // Spain (-172)

Spain blasted Costa Rica 7-0, but since then the Spanish haven’t played great soccer. On Tuesday, they face an underrated team that has done nothing wrong.

Morocco dominated their group. The Moroccans are for real. So unless the odds change, we must take a long look at Morocco to knock out one of the pre-tournament chalks because +604 makes the underdog a massive overlay.

Portugal vs. Switzerland

Portugal is in, despite their loss against South Korea. Switzerland has to either draw or win versus Serbia and hope Cameroon doesn’t upset Brazil.

The Brazilians will most likely beat Cameroon or play the African nation to a draw. The Swiss boast an excellent defense. So they should beat the Serbs or play to a draw.

Like Brazil or anybody else in the knockout stage, Portugal versus the Swiss or the Serbs or even Cameroon, won’t matter. Portugal wins.
