2022 Heisman Trophy Odds Update (December)
Heisman Trophy voting started before Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans blew their chance at making the College Football Playoff in a rout loss to Utah. If voting had started the day after, who knows? Maybe, Williams wouldn’t be a -2500 lock to win the award. With that being written, enough votes may have been cast after the Trojans’ loss to move the needle for one of the other four contenders. Check out the College Football odds and picks for the 2022 Heisman Trophy.

2021 Heisman Trophy Recap
The Heisman Trophy race was over before it began. Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett and Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, both quarterbacks, didn’t post numbers close to fist-ranked Alabama QB Bryce Young.
Young sewed up the Heisman before the Crimson Tide upset Georgia in the SEC Championship. Bryce got 684 first-place votes on his way to 2,311 points. Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson finished second with 954 points, and Kenny Pickett was third with 631.
2022 Heisman Trophy Top Pick
It’s probably too late in the game for the Horned Frogs quarterback to grab the award, but if anybody is going to upset Caleb, it’s Duggan. Max has an amazing story. Duggan had to undergo a 9-hour heart surgery before the 2020 season and still managed to play a month later.
Also, there’s no question that TCU wouldn’t have finished the regular season undefeated, with the only loss happening in the Big 12 Championship, if it wasn’t for Duggan. The stats are there.
More importantly, Max was the most impressive player this year because he showed amazing leadership when continually rallying his team to victory.
2022 Heisman Trophy Second Top Pick
It’s tough to go against Williams. Impossible, really. Not only that, but we should be fair and honest. Caleb Williams is the reason for USC’s turnaround.
If Caleb hadn’t decided to follow his coach at Oklahoma, Lincoln Riley, no way USC makes the Pac-12 title game. Not only that, but if Williams hadn’t transferred, Jordan Addison, last year’s Belitnikoff winner, wouldn’t have either.
Williams should win. Too many votes should have been cast before Duggan almost pulled off another miracle comeback win, and the Trojans laid an egg versus the Utes and if Caleb wins, that’s okay. He deserves it as much as anyone else in the final four, except for maybe Duggan.
2022 Heisman Trophy Third Pick
Georgia’s quarterback doesn’t come close to posting stats comparable to Stroud, Duggan, and Williams.
But based on accomplishments, Stetson should have this in the bag. Bennett beat Alabama in the National Championship last season. He’s the unquestioned leader of the most dominant college football program in the nation two years running, and Bennett almost never makes a mistake.
Bennett could pull off the grandest upset of all upsets. A lot of quarterbacks this season have posted huge stats. There is only one quarterback who has the chance of winning back-to-back National Championships.
