Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs

• When: Thursday, March 24th, 2022. 5:09pm ET
• Where: Chase Center, San Francisco, CA

It was difficult to believe in the Arkansas Razorbacks, but after the Hogs’ defense held scorching New Mexico State star Timmy Allen to 5-of-16 from the field and 2-of-6 from three, it’s apparent few teams left in this tournament can play D as well as Arkansas. The Zags survived versus Memphis in their second round game. In their first round game, Gonzaga allowed Georgia State to hang around until late in the game. Expect the Razorbacks to have a shot to win this late. An Arkansas cover seems more than likely.

Michigan Wolverines vs. Villanova Wildcats

Michigan has played great in their first couple of games. They rallied to beat Colorado State in Round 1 and then in Round 2, the Wolverines beat a terrific Tennessee Volunteers squad. But on Thursday, Michigan takes on one of the most well-coached and well-disciplined teams in the nation, the Villanova Wildcats. Nova is 2-for-2 straight up and against the spread in this tournament because they stick to the game plan, never panic, and take smart shots. The Wildcats end Michigan’s dream.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Duke Blue Devils

• When: Thursday, March 24th, 2022. 7:39pm ET

Both Texas Christian and Texas are on the short list of teams that can upset Baylor or Kansas and win the Big 12 Tournament.

There could be something special about this Duke squad. Not only is it Coach K’s final season, but Duke has grown up in the last couple of games. The Blue Devils team from a couple of weeks ago would have folded against Michigan State after ceding the lead in the second half. Not this Duke squad. This Duke team rallied to not only win, but to also cover the spread in a fantastic 85-76 win. Duke’s offense may be too much for the Red Raiders to handle. Coach K and his team move to the Elite Eight.

Houston Cougars vs. Arizona Wildcats

After watching Arizona struggle against TCU, Houston, no doubt, will become a hot pick to win this straight up. But Arizona faced adversity and lived to tell the tale. That means a lot in an NCAA Tournament. Zona is the type of team that always picks it up in the game after a game where they struggled. Houston played so well versus Illinois that the Cougars could bounce in this. U-of-A wins and covers.

St. Peter’s Peacocks vs. Purdue Boilermakers

• Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA

St. Peter’s is the epitome of a true Cinderella squad. But it will be very difficult to keep this close. Purdue heads into this matchup after dominating Texas 81-71. The Longhorns allowed an average of less than 60 points per game, which tells you how well Purdue is playing. The Boilermakers can lean on Jaden Ivey every trip down the court. Not only that, but Trevion Williams and Zach Eddy will be impossible to handle in the paint. Purdue covers.

Providence Friars vs. Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas’ 79-72 second round victory over Creighton impressed. But that doesn’t mean the Jayhawks should be anywhere close to a -7 chalk versus Providence. The Friars blasted Richmond 79-51 in their last second round game. Providence was one of the best teams in the Big East all season. Providence allows 66.6 points per. The Friars should have a shot to win this outright in the last minute, which makes them a good play to cover against the spread..

North Carolina Tar Heels vs. UCLA Bruins

• When: Friday, March 25th, 2022. 7:39pm ET
• Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA

UCLA sure looked good blasting the St. Mary’s Gaels. St. Mary’s, though, may have bounced after destroying Indiana in their first game. This is a tough matchup for the Bruins. North Carolina heads into this playing their best basketball of the season. The win over Marquette was nice. Giving up a big lead to Baylor but still managing to beat the 1-seed Bears in overtime is inspiring. UCLA has had trouble on the boards all season. So Armando Bacot should control things from the outset. Don’t be surprised if the Heels win this by a comfortable 6 to 8 points.

Iowa State Cyclones vs. Miami Hurricanes

• When: Friday, March 25th, 2022. 7:59pm ET
• Where: United Center, Chicago, IL
• NCAAB Betting Odds: Miami Hurricanes -2.5

Most experts had it wrong. The ACC was just as talented this season as it has been in seasons past. North Carolina, Duke, and, yes, Miami can hang with most any team in the country. The Hurricanes didn’t just beat Auburn. They dusted the Tigers 79-61. Miami is for real. Iowa State is a good team, but they’re not as good as the Hurricanes. Miami keeps the Final Four hopes alive with a big win and cover.
