Among the Nets, Lakers, Bucks, and Warriors, which team or teams offer fair, overlay, or underlay odds?

The Brooklyn Nets may play the entire season without Kyrie Irving. Due to NBA COVID vaccine rules, Brooklyn benched Kyrie from going to their practices or playing in their games. Irving doesn’t want the vaccine. His employer is forcing him to get it or he can’t play for the Nets this season. Whether you side with Kyrie or not, his decision will affect Brooklyn. At the odds, they’re a play against. The Lakers are also a play against.

On paper, the team looks scary good. But Anthony Davis is injury prone, LeBron will be 37 on December 30, and Russell Westbrook has never helped a team to the NBA Finals. At least there’s a reason to like the Lakers to win it all. There’s no reason, at least not one we can see, to back the Warriors to win rings.

Golden State hasn’t improved from last year’s disappointing team. If the Warriors struggled last season, why wouldn’t they struggle this season? We’re down to a single team. Luckily for us, that team happens to be the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks will send the same starting five that won the title last season to the court this season. Repeat winners happen all the time in the NBA. The odds make Milwaukee an overlay.

Which team or teams at +1500 to +2500 odds should NBA future bettors have on their radar?

How can you not like the Phoenix Suns? The starting five returns intact and young Cameron Johnson will be better this season than he was last season. Also, the odds are fair. So consider backing The Valley to rise to the top of the NBA mountain. If you want more value, take a long look at the Miami Heat. Erik Spoelstra’s squad pushed the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020 bubble.

Last season, Miami never got going. But this season, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo get to play with fantastic point guard Kyle Lowry. The odds make the Heat the biggest overlay on the board.

What two teams at odds of +3000 to +8000 deserve a look?

If everyone stays healthy, the Chicago Bulls could surprise. Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, and DeMar DeRozan can all handle the rock and score buckets. LaVine is one of the best all-around players in the NBA. Nikola Vucevic is one of the better centers in the league. It sounds crazy, but the Chicago Bulls could be the Eastern Conference’ surprise team.

Are there any NBA squads at +10000 odds or higher that have a shot to win the NBA Finals?

Toronto should be better than their odds indicate. The Raptors send decent players to the court, especially, Pascal Siakam. Also, Toronto’s backcourt is solid. Fred VanVleet and Goran Dragic are both more than capable of scoring and dishing. If OG Anunoby takes the next step, who knows? Toronto could surprise.
