2022 NFL Conference Championship Round Key Injuries

Bengals vs. Chiefs

Cam Sample was the only Cincinnati player to miss Wednesday’s practice after picking up a groin injury in his recent appearance. The limited participant’s list includes defensive tackle Josh Tupou (knee) and wide receiver Stanley Morgan (hamstring). Meanwhile, starting quarterback Joe Burrow (knee) and wide receiver Tee Higgins (thumb) are found on the injury report despite being full participants in practice.

At the Chiefs’ end, Tyrann Mathie was the only player that failed to attend practice as he remains in concussion protocol. Nevertheless, his status should be closely monitored after head coach Andy Reid announced that he might suit up for the Conference Championships.

Other notable injuries feature wide receiver Tyreek Hill (heel), running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder), and defensive tackle Chris Jones (groin). However, all three aforementioned players were listed as full participants.

49ers vs. Rams

Trent Williams did not get the green light in Wednesday’s practice after picking up an ankle injury in the divisional playoff round. Though the 49ers went through with the victory, it came at the expense of injuries. His status remains unclear for Sunday, but head coach Kyle Shanahan is hopeful that Williams recovers in time to play his first NFC Championship game.

They also missed the services of running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) in practice. Cornerback Ambry Thomas (knee) and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (knee) were also limited participants in their most recent practice session. But, lifting the spirits of the 49ers is the exclusion of Jimmy Garoppolo from the injury report.

The hosts missed offensive tackle Joe Noteboom (pec), defensive lineman Greg Gaines (toe), and receiver Van Jefferson (knee) in their latest practice session. Rams coach Sean McVay mentioned that veteran offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth (knee) has solid chances of playing this Sunday after missing the divisional round. Whitworth was a limited participant in their previous practice session. In addition, running back Buddy Howell (hamstring) and safety Taylor Rapp (concussion protocol) were also limited.
