Despite the huge playoff implications from Week 17’s results, there weren’t as many casualties over in our Nitro NFL Survivor Pools, much to the delight of those who are left standing. That being said, our last few remaining survivors should still be aware of how things stand heading into the final week of what has been an extremely challenging survivor campaign.

Bracing for Final Impact

Save for the inconsequential upset of the Saints against the Eagles and the Packers’ rout in Lambeau over the Vikings, there weren’t any more significant upsets to shake up Week 17’s survivor picks. It’s also fortunate that the Eagles and Vikings have previously been picked by the majority of the survivor public in prior weeks when the getting was good for the two best NFC teams record-wise.

In turn, our two remaining buy-in survivor pools that began play in Week 1, our Prospect and All Pro Pools, saw no changes week-on-week, with both pools still keeping their respective two-man populations intact. The suspended Monday Night Football game between the Bills and the Bengals will not factor into the survivor picture here as well, as Buffalo and Cincinnati were also early survivor locks this season.

Will all four battle-hardened participants survive the entire arduous 2022 NFL regular season and split their respective prize pots when all is said and done? Regardless of the impending outcome in our Prospect Pool and All Pro Pool, we wish these four users all the best in Week 18 as they duke it out one last time!

NFL Survivor Picks for Week 18

Several bold yet possibly necessary predictions could hugely pay off in Week 18 for our remaining survivors, and some of these matchups don’t even involve teams in playoff contention.

First off, there’s the compelling “Tank Bowl” of a clash between the Texans and the Colts. It’s hard to fathom Indy having been picked as a survivor lock this season already and now’s the only time that the Colts are actually a viable survivor option. Indianapolis is currently a (-2.5) to win at home in their season finale, and we don’t see Houston trying to win for pride alone when they already have a stranglehold on the first-overall pick at the 2023 NFL Draft with their league-worst record of 2-13-1.

Elsewhere, the Broncos are also in an intriguing spot in Week 18. They are (+3) home dogs in their showdown against the Chargers, but it’s worth noting that Los Angeles doesn’t lose much from a defeat in Week 18 with their playoff spot already locked in. The fact that the Bolts will still end up no better than the No. 4 seed and no worse than the No. 5 seed in the AFC means that they’ll likely opt to rest their starters this weekend. It also doesn’t hurt that the Broncos’ inept offense has visibly improved over the last three weeks.

Lastly, we hope that there are some of our survivors who held off on the Jaguars this long. Jacksonville is a (-6.5) home favorite to beat the freefalling Titans in Week 18’s blockbuster matchup for the AFC South title. Winner of four consecutive games, the Jags have all the momentum they need to complete their late postseason push. Meanwhile, Tennessee is on a six-game losing streak with no end in sight to their misery.
