Sebastian Vettel

2022 United States Grand Prix Odds: +50000

The four-time Formula One World Champion gave us one of the most intense midfield duels of the season at the Japanese Grand Prix. Vettel scored his third top-ten finish in five races after crossing the line a few milliseconds ahead of Fernando Alonso. The latter part of the season has been good for the retiring German driver despite a rough trajectory since joining Aston Martin.

Vettel scored 32 points in 16 races this season. This puts him in 11th place in the 2022 Drivers’ Standings. There’s still enough time to catch up with tenth-place driver Valtteri Bottas, who’s only 14 points ahead of him. The United States Grand Prix has been a treat to him throughout his career. The 35-year-old won his first and only US GP title with Red Bull in 2013, followed by four top-five finishes between 2014 and 2022. Ultimately, it would be nice to see the former Red Bull driver step on the podium before he hangs his suit.

Pierre Gasly

  • 2022 United States Grand Prix Odds: +55000

This is the last time Pierre Gasly sports AlphaTauri’s colors around the Circuit of the Americas. The 26-year-old will feature in Alpine’s lineup in the 2023 season. He fills in the empty seat left by Fernando Alonso and completes the first all-French lineup of the constructor in decades. Gasly scored 23 points for Red Bull’s sister team and sits 13th in the Drivers’ Standings.

The former GP2 Series champion can step on top of the podium once again since his first win at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. His most recent win came by way of a P3 finish at the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. With a winning pedigree and potentially a better car for next season, it won’t surprise us to see him register better results. For now, he stays in Nitrobetting’s Top 2022 United States Grand Prix Sleeper Picks.

Yuki Tsunoda

  • >2022 United States Grand Prix Odds: +95900

AlphaTauri recently renewed Yuki Tsunoda’s contract for another year. The Japanese racing driver is in a bit of a slump right now in the wake of multiple finishes outside the points. He sits 17th in the Driver Standings with 11 points. Although it’s a common sight to see him get outperformed by teammate Pierre Gasly, we’ve seen spurts of brilliance from the 22-year-old this season.

Tsunoda scored his two top-ten finishes this season in the first four races. He concluded the opening race in P8 and logged his best finish of the year with a P7 at Emilia Romagna. Crashes and mechanical issues have been a consistent problem for the Japanese driver this year, but if his constructor improves the reliability issues and Tsunoda stays out of trouble on the track, he can be a menacing opponent to many.
