2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Sleeper Picks

By Jeff Stinger

For the past two editions of the AT&T Byron Nelson, South Korea’s K.H. Lee has dominated the field and captured back-to-back wins in McKinney, Texas. However, as impressive as Lee has been in the tournament, there are a handful of sleeper picks ready to buck the trend this week and deny Lee’s bid of becoming the first PGA TOUR golfer to win all three of his first events on the TOUR on the same course in almost 90 years.

Nitrobetting is here to help turn your golf bets from bogeys to birdies. This time, let’s take a closer look at the three best sleeper candidates to keep tabs on at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, as well as their corresponding golf odds to win the latest installment of the annual tournament held in TPC Craig Ranch.

Seamus Power

  • 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Odds: +3,300

After picking up his first win of the season in October and following that up with six consecutive top-25 finishes to mid-February, Seamus Power has, well, lost some of his power of late. Thankfully, the Irish mad lad relatively got back on track with a T18 finish in last week’s Wells Fargo Championship. With back-to-back top-17 finishes at the AT&T Byron Nelson to date, Power is more than deserving of being recognized as a worthy sleeper pick to win it all this week.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout

  • 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Odds: +5,000

South Africa is well-represented in TPC Craig Ranch this week with another viable sleeper candidate, as Christiaan Bezuidenhout makes his return to the course. The 36-year-old Johannesburg resident made a strong debut at the AT&T Byron Nelson last year by finishing tied for 19th in the field. Although Bezuidenhout is still in search of his first-career PGA TOUR victory, he’s been on the cusp of success recently, finishing T13 at THE PLAYERS Championship and a T19 at the RBC Heritage last month.

Tom Hoge

  • 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Odds: +5,000

It’s been a feast-or-famine season for Tom Hoge, who has three top-15 finishes over his last seven starts, but with three missed cuts thrown into the mix during this timeframe. Statistically, though, the North Carolina native has the right tools to conquer this week’s event, ranking first on the PGA TOUR in strokes gained approaching the green and 23rd overall in total strokes gained. It’s also worth noting that Hoge’s lone win on the TOUR was another AT&T-sponsored tourney from last year at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, so he’s yet another compelling sleeper pick who has huge potential of winning the top prize this weekend.
