2022 AT&T Byron Nelson Recap

K.H. Lee shot a -26 to beat Justin Spieth by a single stroke. Two players finished tied for third at -24, Hideki Matsuyama and Sebastian Munoz.

Three players finished tied for fifth at -23: Ryan Palmer, Zander Schauffele, and Justin Thomas. Charl Schwartzel finished alone in eighth.

2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Top Pick

The top choice goes into the AT&T Byron Nelson playing excellent golf. Tyrrell Hatton finished a tied third behind winner Wyndham Clark and Xander Schauffele at Qual Hollow last Sunday.

The world’s seventeenth ranked golfer finished nineteenth at the RBC Heritage and thirty-fourth at the Masters. At The Players Championship, Tyrrell almost pulled off the upset win, finishing second. Hatton didn’t seem to have a shot at TPC-Sawgrass going in to the weekend. But the top choice shot a 68 and 65 to grab second place.

Tyrrell didn’t tee off in this last year. But he’s playing well enough, and the odds are fair enough, to warrant top billing.

2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Second Pick

2021 Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama is starting to play great golf. After back-to-back missed cuts, Matsuyama finished fifth at The Players Championship.

He then finished a tied fifteenth at the Valero Texas Open before finishing a tied sixteenth at the Masters Tournament. Matsuyama hasn’t played competitively since the Masters. Hopefully, he heads to the lawn with his best swing. If he does, he can win this and the odds are right.

2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Third Pick

By far, Scottie Scheffler is the best golfer at the Byron Nelson. But Scheffler’s last win came at TPC-Sawgrass.

So although Scheffler should win, he’s difficult to back at the +333 odds. Scottie has won just two tournaments this PGA Season. If you don’t mind the odds, backing Scheffler to win makes a lot of sense.

But if you’re looking to back a player offering value, Scottie isn’t your guy.

2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Underdog Pick

Although Bezuidenhout ranks seventy-seventh in the world, his current form suggests he does well in this. In his last three tournaments played, Bezuidenhout has finished well enough to attract a look.

The top underdog play finished thirteenth at The Players Championship, twenty-eighth at the Valero Texas Open, and nineteenth at the RBC Heritage.

In this last year, Bezuidenhout finished a tied twelfth, 6 strokes off winner K.H. Lee. Christian can get it done at massive odds.
