2023 Belmont Stakes Post Positions, Morning Line Odds and Horses
This weekend, the third race in the Triple Crown will take place, with nine horses taking part in the 155th Belmont Stakes. Forte will be the favorite in this weekend’s race. The horse was the Kentucky Derby favorite before it was scratched a few minutes ahead of the Run for the Roses.
Forte—trained by eight-time Eclipse Award winner Todd Pletcher—was declared unfit to compete at Churchill Downs because of a bruised hoof. He was also kept from participating at Preakness. However, the three-year old will finally get his chance at glory after opening as the morning line favorite.

Mage, the Kentucky Derby winner, is not running in this race on Saturday. Mage finished third at the Preakness Stakes and was no longer chasing a Triple Crown. National Treasure, the Preakness Stakes winner, will compete at Belmont Park. It won’t be an easy task to win again, since the race in New York is the longest of the Triple Crown events at 1 1/2 miles, hence its nickname “Test of the Champion.”
