Two of the top choices to win the 2023 Breeders’ Cup Classic, favorite Arcangelo and Richard Mandella trained Geaux Rocket Ride, have scratched. Kentucky Derby winner Mage also scratched, which means this year’s BC Classic is wide open. It makes sense to add a couple of in form longshots to the third slot in the trifecta. Both Missed the Cut and Senor Buscador show 30-to-1 morning lines.

Missed the Cut, trained by 2022 Classic winner Flightline’s conditioner John Sadler, won the Grade 3 Tokyo Cup by hanging near the lead and then turning on the jets in the stretch. The Tokyo Cup is at 1 ½ miles. So for sure Missed The Cut can win a 1 ¼ mile race.

Horses like Clapton, Derma Sotogake, Senor Buscador, Bright Future, and Proxy shouldn’t finish in the top three at this year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic, but those horses could for sure finish fourth. Instead of worrying about which horse will finish fourth, push All and see if you can score a huge win.

The Bob Baffert front runner should be able to lie right off of Brad Cox trained and Pennsylvania Derby winner Saudi Crown. Then when the real running starts at the top of the stretch, Arabian Knight will take over and cruise to the finish line first.

White Abbario isn’t bred to relish the Classic’s 1 ¼ miles. But the Whitney winner’s form is too good to ignore.

Dreamlike has the looks of a major upsetter. The 30-to-1 odds are a joke because Dreamlike would have beaten Saudi Crown in the Pennsylvania Derby if the race had been run at 1 ¼ miles instead of 1 1/8 miles.

Ushba Tesoro won the Dubai World Cup in March. The Japanese trained runner has won 6 straight, all over dirt. Ushba is also 3-of-3 at the 1 ¼ mile distance and has proven to be capable no matter where the racetrack exists.

Zandon, trained by Chad Brown, is a closer that has enough ability to pull off the upset victory. If Arabian Knight goes toe-to-toe with Saudi Crown in the early stages, the race will set up for Zandon to blow by the two front runners in the stretch.
