2022 F1 British GP Recap

The 2022 British Grand Prix was one of the few races that Max Verstappen didn’t win. Verstappen won everything else, but at Silverstone Circuit, the best Verstappen could do was finish seventh.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz got the victory followed by Verstappen teammate Sergio Perez in second. Lewis Hamilton finished third, Charles Leclerc fourth, and Fernando Alonso finished fifth.

Top Pick to Win the 2023 British Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton didn’t have a great Austrian Grand Prix but before the eighth place finish in Austria, Hamilton had been driving well enough to warrant a top place look.

Lewis finished third at the Canadian Grand Prix. Before before finishing third in Canada, Hamilton had finished second behind Verstappen in Spain.

The Mercedes driver finished fourth at Monaco. So Hamilton had been driving well up until Austria and even at the Austrian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton finished in the top ten.

If Verstappen is on, he wins, but if he isn’t, the race is wide open. Because he will be driving in front of his country men and women, Lewis Hamilton is a good pick to finish first.

Second Pick to Win the 2023 British Grand Prix

Like Hamilton, Fernando Alonso didn’t have a fantastic Austrian Grand Prix. Alonso finished fifth. The reason it wasn’t great is because for most of the season, Alonso had finished third or second.

Fernando could turn it around on Sunday. He finished fifth in this last year but, overall, he’s been driving much better in 2023 than he did in 2022.

Also, if Verstappen doesn’t have it, the Red Bull Driver could end up off the board. So if you’re counting on Verstappen to fail like he did in 2022, backing Alonso given his 16-to-1 odds makes sense.

Third Pick to Win the 2023 British Grand Prix

It’s tough to go against Max Verstappen. And to be honest, -300 are fair odds. But although Max is the likeliest winner, he failed big time at the 2022 F1 British Grand Prix.

Verstappen isn’t unbeatable. So it’s a question of finding the race that he’s going to lose. Max lost last year. Maybe, he loses this year.

Top Underdog Pick to Win the 2023 British Grand Prix

The Ferrari driver isn’t having a great season. Ferrari in general isn’t having a fantastic F1 Season.

But Carlos Sainz won this last year. So he deserves a look. Also, Carlos offers odds that make him an underdog. If the race falls apart, Sainz can pull off the repeat victory.
