At the 2022 Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum, it looked as if former Joe Gibbs driver Kyle Busch had it in the bag. Busch not only won the pole, but he also led 65 laps.
Kyle failed to cross the finish line first, and finished second to Joey Logano. Austin Dillon finished third, Erik Jones fourth, and Kyle Larson fifth. Sixth place went to Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron.

One of the top drivers at the NASCAR Cup Series, Kyle Busch had an okay but not great 2022. Things went south between Busch and Joe Gibbs, which is why Kyle now drives for Richard Childress Racing.
Only one other driver, Austin Dillon, throws down for Childress at the NASCAR Cup Series. The lack of drivers means both Dillon and Busch will get a ton of attention.
In last year’s Busch Light Clash, Kyle drove too well to lose. The younger Busch will be dead set on impressing his new employer. Expect Busch to get it done.

Chase Elliot didn’t drive so well at the 2022 Busch Light Clash. Elliott finished eleventh, which by his standards is a bad performance.
Elliott dominated the 2022 NASCAR regular season. But once the playoff came around, Chase and his crew underperformed. In the final race of the year, Elliott finished fourth of four. Chase wants to make amends for how he ended last season. Expect Elliott and his crew to be fired up to grab the first checkered flag of the year.

The 2022 Busch Light Clash winner also took home the NASCAR Cup trophy last season. Joey Logano, for sure, is a threat to make it back-to-back Clash victories.
However, Busch should be ready to get the checkered flag and Elliott will drive much better in the 2023 race than he did in the 2022 version. Logano can win this. But he may not get the luxury of waiting on Kyle and his crew to come back to the field like he did last season.

The organization’s top driver will be Erik Jones. Erik finished fourth in this last year. Nothing has changed except that Jimmie is now there to point Jones in the right direction. Don’t be surprised if Jones wins on Sunday at massive odds.
