2022 Cook Out 400 Recap
Last year, NASCAR had a different sponsor for the race, Federated Auto Parts. Kevin Harvick took the checkered flag in this event in 2022.
Joe Gibbs driver Christopher Bell finished second, followed by Chris Buescher in third and Denny Hamlin in fourth. Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott finished fifth.
This year’s race favorite, Martin Truex Jr., finished seventh, a spot behind Joey Logano in sixth. Aric Almirola, Kyle Busch, and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top ten.
Top Choice to Win the 2023 Cook Out 400
The low odds make Truex Jr. unplayable. Denny won at Pocono, NASCAR’s last Cup race. So it’s difficult to back Hamlin.
What’s wrong with Christopher Bell? Not much. Last year, Bell finished second behind Kevin Harvick. So we know Chris likes the track and this event.
At Pocono, Bell finished sixth after winning the pole at New Hampshire in the race before Pocono. We feel Christopher has been knocking on the door. He could open it on Sunday and the odds make him playable.
Second Choice to Win the 2023 Cook Out 400
Last year’s Cook Out 400 winner could be gearing up for a repeat effort. Harvick finished fourth at Pocono in the last.
Harvick also finished fourth at New Hampshire. So Kevin has recorded two straight fourth place finishes. On Sunday, Harvick drives over a track in a race where he’s had a lot of success.
If Kevin can put it all together, he should be in the top five for sure. With some luck and if he gets a decent position early and doesn’t run into any trouble, the second choice can win.
Third Choice to Win the 2023 Cook Out 400
Chase’s worst finish in the last six races was a thirteenth at Atlanta Motor Speedway. In the last, Elliott finished tenth.
It’s difficult to make Chase the top choice because he has yet to win or finish in the top five in a while. But depending on your handicapping, the odds could counter that fact.
Also, at New Hampshire, Chase finished twelfth. He finished fifth in this last year. Eventually, Elliott is going to win a race. So at the odds, he’s a must to consider putting on top.
Top Underdog to Win the 2023 Cook Out 400
Reddick finished thirty-first in this last year, which is the main reason he’s at 28-to-1 odds but the 23XI Racing driver has picked up his game in the last couple of events.
At New Hampshire, Reddick finished sixth. At Pocono, Tyler finished second. Reddick is in great form and could get it done at a massive number.
If you’re looking to back an underdog, Tyler Reddick might be your play. He’s moving in the right direction for sure, and the odds are more than fair.
