2022 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix Recap
This is the third year in a row NASCAR will race at COTA. In 2021, Chase Elliott won the race. Then last year, Ross Chastain took the checkered flag.
William Byron could be in line for a third victory in his last four races. Byron will race in the Xfinity event on Saturday. He’s second choice in that race behind Allmendinger.
If Byron can get a feel for the turns, who knows? Maybe, William shows he’s not just a stock car driver. Byron finished eleventh in 2021 and twelfth last year.

William Byron, driving Jeff Gordon’s number 24, won his second straight race in Phoenix last Sunday. So far, Byron has thrown down the gauntlet this season.
He’s been Hendrick’s top driver. Not only did William win at Phoenix Raceway, he also took the checkered flag at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the race before. On Sunday, Byron heads to a track where he had much success driving over last year.Three wins in a row is not an impossibility. The odds make William more than playable.
Second Top Choice to Win the 2023 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
AJ Allmendinger used to drive Indy Cars. Not only that, but he’s had success in this race. In 2021, AJ finished a decent fifth.
Last year wasn’t as kind to Allmendinger. He finished thirty-third. No doubt, AJ Allmendinger is gong to race much better on Sunday than he did in this last season.
Check for cluse in the Xfinity race. If Allmendinger drives well, he’ll have a shot to win on Sunday.
Third Top Choice to Win the 2023 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
Even though he won the first stage at last year’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, Daniel Suarez faded to finish twenty-fourth. Suarez is a much better GP driver than that.
In 2022, Suarez qualified to start second. Again, he won the first stage, but could do nothing with it.
Suarez’s NASCAR form has tailed off. He started the season driving great, finishing in the top ten at Daytona, the Auto Club Speedway, and Las Vegas. But since Vegas, he’s finished twenty-second in Phoenix and twenty-ninth at Atlanta.If Suarez can turn it around, and the odds suggest he might, he can win this.
Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2023 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
It’s strange that Bowman offers higher odds than Suarez. Bowman finished second in this last year. In 2021, Alex finished eighth.
So Bowman knows how to handle a grand prix course. If he starts near the front of the line, like he did last season, Bowman could for sure cross the finish line first.
