2023 Formula 1 Season Schedule

By Jeff Stinger

Formula 1 sets another record-breaking season with an action-packed 2023 schedule. The FIA announced a 24-race season that kicks off in Bahrain on March 5 and concludes in Abu Dhabi on November 26. With a refreshed grid, management changes, and updated cars, the sport promises more wheel-to-wheel action in the coming weeks.

What does the 2023 F1 calendar year have to offer?

The calendar features a brand-new Las Vegas street circuit and Qatar is set to return to the schedule. The summer break in August remains, though updates to race dates see the Belgian Grand Prix moving to the end of July as a back-to-back with Hungary. Meanwhile, the Netherlands GP is followed shortly after by the Italian Grand Prix after the restart.

Keep in mind that the 2023 Chinese Grand Prix initially scheduled for April was canceled following the difficulties presented by the COVID-19 situation in the country. Formula 1 looks at various options to replace the slot on the 2023 calendar or shorten the season to 23 races.

Pre-season testing is about to begin and takes place over three days at the Bahrain International Circuit. The usual testing days in Barcelona are long gone now due to logistics issues and the better testing environment the middle-eastern country offers.
