Why Karolina Muchova is a good bet to beat Iga Swiatek?

Muchova was supposed to lose to Aryna Sabalenka. Instead of losing, Karolina decided to outwork her favored opponent and win their semifinals match.

By outwork, we mean that it took 3 sets and 2 tiebreakers to get by Sabalenka. The 26-year-old from the Czech Republic has been the dog in every match at the French Open.

She’s won every match. So we shouldn’t discount her chances on Saturday. Not only that, but the odds are more than fair.

Why Iga Swiatek is a good bet to beat Karolina Muchova?

The favorite in the final is playing unbelievable tennis. Swiatek hasn’t lost a set during the French Open tournament. She required a tiebreaker to beat Haddad Maia.

But other than having to play the tiebreaker, Swiatek hasn’t had to work hard in any match. Iga is playing like who she is, the top ranked women’s tennis player on the planet.

Karolina Muchova vs. Iga Swiatek 2023 French Open Women’s Final Prediction

Muchova will fight, but she’s up against it versus the Iga Swiatek. The world’s top ranked tennis player on the women’s side is dominating her opponents.

Other than losing six games to Haddad Maia in the second set of her semifinal victory, no opponent has won more than 4 games in any set in any match against Swiatek.

In her 11 sets played this tournament, Swiatek has won 4 via 6-0 scores. She was up 5-1 when Tsurenko retired in the first set in Swiatek’s fourth round match. Iga beat Cori Gauff 6-4, 6-2.

On Saturday, Swiatek should have no trouble beating Muchova in straight sets. The question is if we should lay the 5.5 games.

Muchova had a brutally tough match against Sabalenka in the semifinals. It’s hard seeing Karolina keeping up with Swiatek’s energy. Iga covers the game spread.
