Francesco Bagnaia

  • 2023 MotoGP World Championship Odds: -625

The Italian motorcycle racer currently tops the Drivers’ Standings after eight races. The reigning world champion is the clear betting favorite on the MotoGP World Championship board. Bagnaia opened the campaign with an impressive 37-point weekend. Although his form dropped in Argentina and the United States, the 26-year-old recovered well in Spain. He returned to Europe in incredible fashion and bagged 34 points at Circuito de Jerez.

Bagnaia bagged three more podiums after his win in Spain. He stood on the top podium spot after the Grand Prix De France, followed by another first-place finish in Italy, and eventually trailed Jorge Martin in P2 after the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. Francesco quickly regained pace and topped the list at TT Assen in June. At the time of writing, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider leads the board with 194 points and is the favorite ahead of the British Grand Prix. With four wins and five podiums, it’s difficult to put an end to his momentum as a heavy favorite to secure the 2023 title.

Marco Bezzecci

  • 2023 MotoGP World Championship Odds: +820

Mooney’s VR46’s Marco Bezzecchi is the other Ducati rider who can pressure the season favorites. He needs to keep pace to sustain a competitive tussle with Bagnaia, but only if he can produce consistent podium finishes. There’s time to rack up points over the remaining races. Bezzecci holds the Constructors’ two non-Bagnaia wins this campaign and has three podium finishes and 159 points to his name.

However, for the youngster to make a mark this season and make this a proper Championship race, he needs to avoid retirements and be more consistent in the points and the Sprints. He only has one top-three but four top-ten Sprint race finishes this season. We know his pace is enough to keep up with the pack leader. The only question here is, can he impose himself and stand strong when the race leaders attack him?

Brad Binder

  • 2023 MotoGP World Championship Odds: +3400

There’s a point’s gap forming between Binder and Bezzecchi right now. This means crunch time for the South African motorcycle rider if he wants a finish within the top three of the 2023 standings. But, what makes him a strong case for a favorite is his ability to finish races. Championships are won by avoiding retirements and bagging points every weekend. The likes of Marc Marquez and Fabio Quatararo did the same to win World Championships in the last decade.

If he keeps up the pace and meets the consistency required to close the current points gap from any other rider, Binder can keep his position as a 2023 MotoGP Championship favorite. The KTM rider seeks more podium finishes after his P2 finish at Circuito de Jerez and will try to add to his 114 points this season.
