Why Bet on Team Giannis?

Milwaukee Bucks poster boy Giannis Antetokounmpo captains one of the two teams. This is his third time leading the pack following his 2019 and 2020 stints as captain. More than that, the “Greek Freak” is eager to get his first win as captain. He is already 0-2 against Team LeBron, but the 28-year-old continues to turn heads with 6,761,032 fan votes ahead of the competition.

Team captain Giannis averages at least 30 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists per game. He has averaged 34.8 points per 36 minutes on the floor which is the third-highest record in the last six decades.

Why Bet on Team LeBron?

James serves as a team captain for a sixth-straight year. The 19-time All-Star recently broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record and received an incredible 7,418,116 fan votes. The Los Angeles Lakers star took on the captain role since the format changed in the 2018 All-Star Game. More than that, the four-time champion is 5-0 as captain. This is his chance to stretch the record to six wins.

LeBron ranks fifth in this season’s ESPN ratings with averages of 40.0 points, seven assists, and 8.4 rebounds per game. Although he only played 45 games this season due to recurring injuries, his veteran presence and strength are likely to remain prevalent on Sunday night.

2023 NBA All-Star Starters

Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) and Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets) are two of the hottest assets. Lauri Markkanen (Utah Jazz) replaces Zion Williamson in the starting lineup while Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies) fills in for Stephen Curry. Any of the two teams can benefit from the services of Luka Doncic. The Slovenian tops the ESPN charts with a 56.6 rating thanks to 33.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game in 50 outings.

Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is en route to another MVP title with incredible figures. The center averages 24.7 points, 11.5 boards, and 10.1 assists in 51 games. He is a pivotal presence on both the franchise and the Western Conference team. Furthermore, a surprise addition to the starters list is Utah Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen who is on 24.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game in 54 appearances.

The starters list also includes Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), and Kyrie Irving (Dallas Mavericks). Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers) assumes Kevin Durant’s starting position while the latter recovers from an MCL injury.

LeBron or Giannis has a shot at playing alongside one of the best forwards in the league, Jayson Tatum, who averages 30.6 points in 37.3 minutes played across 55 games. Playmaker and prolific scorer Kyrie Irving is also available and currently averages 27.2 points and 5.4 assists per game in 44 appearances.

Joel Embiid can help hold the fort wherever he goes. The big man is having a great season as he joins the top-three season leaders. The 28-year-old averages 33.1 points, 10.2 boards, and 4.1 assists in 45 games played. Meanwhile, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell joins the party with averages of 27.3 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.1 boards per game in 50 appearances.

NBA All-Star Game Expert Betting Prediction

It’s always a kick to see the best basketball players duke it out for fun. Of course, the competitive nature is heightened with the game format. LeBron’s leadership and All-Star experience give him the edge here. There’s no home advantage given that the event is held on neutral grounds. That being said, the other squad with Giannis is no slouches. Having prolific scorers in the mix gives them solid winning chances here. More than that, Antetokounmpo’s drive to win his first All-Star game as captain plays a huge role in this matchup. Ultimately, basketball fans and bettors are in for a treat once tip-off commences.
