2023 NFC West Division NFL Odds & Predictions
It’s a tale of two halves over in the NFC West, as a pair of playoff contenders from last season are still leading the pack. The 49ers and the Seahawks are both in decent shape entering the new campaign, but could the same be said about the Rams and Cardinals, who each had miserable outings in 2022?
Nitrobetting is here to take your bets into the end zone this 2023 NFL season. This time, let’s break down each team from the NFC West and their corresponding odds of winning the division title in 2023.

San Francisco 49ers
In three of the last four seasons, the 49ers made it all the way to at least the NFC Championship Game. They won the NFC West in just two of those seasons (2019 and 2022), but it’s their consistency at playing hard-nosed football that makes the Niners easy odds-on favorites to repeat as division champs. San Francisco is loaded with talent, particularly on a top-five defense with the likes of former Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa and two-time first-team All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner.
The Niners also boast one of if not the best rushing attacks in the NFL, led by Christian McCaffrey. The only question, like most seasons in San Fran, is how healthy the team’s QB situation is, with “Mr. Irrelevant” Brock Purdy and high draft pick Trey Lance battling it out for the starting job with both young gunslingers coming off of their respective serious injuries. Regardless of who’ll be under center, the Niners are expected to keep a tight hold on their dominance of the rest of the NFC West.
Seattle Seahawks
What seemed like a boneheaded decision to part with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson last offseason, turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Seattle. Head coach Pete Carroll stuck to his guns and was confident that veteran QB Geno Smith is the right man for the starting job and Smith proved his doubters wrong en route to a career-best 4,200-yard, 30 TD campaign and a Comeback Player of the Year award.
Smith isn’t the only bright spot for Seattle, as young emerging superstars in wide receiver D.K. Metcalf and running back Kenneth Walker III spearheading the new era of ‘Hawks offense in the Emerald City. The Seahawks’ defense is still far from being the dominant Legion of Boom form of the recent past, but that isn’t enough for them to be deterred as a solid sleeper pick to win the division since their 12-win season back in 2020.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams just had a Super Bowl hangover for the ages, going just 5-12 last season after winning the Lombardy trophy the prior season for the worst post-Super Bowl campaign in NFL history. Things are just getting worse in LA, as the team now bids farewell to defensive standouts Jalen Ramsey, Bobby Wagner, and Leonard Floyd as Los Angeles isn’t able to keep its top players due to immense salary cap restraints.
As a silver lining, former Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp should be at full strength entering the 2023 season as the stud wideout looks to aid quarterback Matthew Stafford in his turnaround as well. Sadly, the Rams still lack a decent running game and a dependable offensive line to complement what should be an otherwise prolific passing attack. As such, Los Angeles is a borderline long shot to rediscover their title-winning magic, let alone contend for the division crown this upcoming season.
Arizona Cardinals
The Rams have their issues, but they don’t have it as bad as this Arizona organization stuck in limbo. The Cardinals’ front office fired Kliff Kingsbury after four subpar seasons on average, despite having an electric playmaker in quarterback Kyler Murray. To make matters worse, Murray has shown signs of immaturity time and again to put the Cards’ foundation on even shakier ground.
Glendale is far from an attractive destination nowadays, with the last vestige of Arizona’s once-feared passing game, five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, opting to move to Tennessee this offseason. With the longest odds among all NFL teams to win their respective division odds-wise, the Cardinals are also the longest of longshots to win their first NFC West title since 2015 with a rag-tag roster in dire need of a full rebuild.
