Favorites to Win the 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Tournament

Novak Djokovic

This July, Novak Djokovic is ready to make history as he looks to join Roger Federer as the only player to win eight Wimbledon gentlemen’s singles titles. The sensational Serb is the defending four-time champ in the All England Club and has a total of seven titles won since 2011. Even better for Djokovic is that he’s hot off another magnificent victory at the French Open as he keeps his dream of a Calendar Slam alive. In turn, Nole is the rightful consensus favorite to sustain his reign of the English lawns.

Carlos Alcaraz

It was close but no cigar in Roland Garros for Carlos Alcaraz, who fell to Djokovic in the semifinal of the French Open to deny the World No. 1 male tennis player a shot at a second career Grand Slam title. The 20-year-old Spaniard is having a banner 2023 campaign, winning two tournaments on clay leading up to the French Open along with four other victories this season. Alcaraz’s most recent win was in a tune-up tourney on grass at the Cinch Championships also here in London. All things considered, Alcaraz can confidently be seen as a co-favorite alongside Djokovic with a Grand Slam rematch between the two being a high possibility.

Dark Horses to Win the 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Tournament

Andy Murray

Once regarded as a member of the ATP Tour’s Big Four, 26-year-old Brit Andy Murray is now but a shell of his former exceptional self. And while the Surrey native hasn’t advanced past the third round of a Grand Slam event since 2017, many of his local fans still believe that a late-career resurgence is in the works. Murray recently took home the Surbiton Trophy and won the Nottingham Open shortly after as his two frass-court tourneys leading up to Wimbledon. Although those were mere Challenger 125 events, Murray’s form on the surface he’s most familiar with is more than enough of a reason to qualify as a sleeper pick to win his first Grand Slam title since winning it all in Wimby in 2016.

Huge Reach to Win the 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Tournament

Ben Shelton

After a stunning quarterfinal showing at this year’s Australian Open, Florida’s very own Ben Shelton started to turn some heads. Unfortunately, the 20-year-old prodigy has cooled off since that breakout performance, going 6-14 the rest of the way. Shelton will be making his Wimbledon debut and his lack of experience on grass courts limits his potential as a mere longshot to win not only his first Grand Slam title but also his first career ATP Tour title in general.
