St. Louis Battlehawks vs. Seattle Sea Dragons
- When: Thursday, February 23, 2023, 9:00 PM ET
- Where: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
- TV: FX
- Live Stream: ESPN+
- XFL Odds: St. Louis Battlehawks (+3) // Seattle Sea Dragons (-3)
The St. Louis Battlehawks rallied from a 12-point deficit late in their Week 1 game against the Brahmas, 18-15. Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron connected with wide receiver Austin Proehl (son of former NFL wideout Ricky Proehl) for a potent combination to look out for. The Battlehawks’ defense also looked great on opening week holding San Antonio to just 15 points.
Meanwhile, the Seattle Sea Dragons were on the losing end of another tight contest, falling to the DC Defenders, 22-18. Many predicted that former Dallas Cowboys backup QB Ben DiNucci would be sound under center in the minors, but three costly turnovers are not a good look. Here’s hoping the Sea Dragons bounce back in Week 2 in front of a loud Seattle crowd.
DC Defenders vs. Vegas Vipers
- When: Saturday, February 25, 2023, 7:00 PM ET
- Where: Cashman Field, Las Vegas, NV
- TV: FX
- Live Stream: ESPN+
- XFL Odds: DC Defenders (+3.5) // Vegas Vipers (-3.5)
Thanks to a late goal-line stand, the DC Defenders hung on to beat the aforementioned Sea Dragons in Week 1. However, neither of their QBs, Jordan Ta’amu nor D’Eriq King, was accurate with his passes on opening week. The Defenders will likely lean on their running game once more to get the job done.
Over in Vegas, the Vipers also suffered a similar fate as DC, with promising play-caller Luis Perez coming out hot only to fizzle down the stretch and resulting in a 22-20 defeat to the Arlington Renegades. A pair of picks by Perez in the fourth quarter ended up being very costly, and Vegas needs to play like the squad that’s filled with former NFL talent like wide receiver Martavis Bryant and linebacker Vic Beasley.
San Antonio Brahmas vs. Orlando Guardians
- When: Sunday, February 26, 2023, 4:00 PM ET
- Where: Camping World Stadium, Orlando, FL
- TV: ESPN
- Live Stream: ESPN+
- XFL Odds: San Antonio Brahmas (-3) // Orlando Guardians (+3)

Arlington Renegades vs. Houston Roughnecks
- When: Sunday, February 26, 2023, 7:00 PM ET
- Where: TDECU Stadium, Houston, TX
- TV: ESPN2
- Live Stream: ESPN+
- XFL Odds: Arlington Renegades (+5) // Houston Roughnecks (-5)
It’s an early battle for the Lone Star State on Sunday night, as the Arlington Renegades and Houston Roughnecks put their respective undefeated records on the line. The Renegades scored two defensive touchdowns against a sloppy Vegas offense, but that shouldn’t be the case against their neighboring rivals ahead.
The Roughnecks looked like the best team in the league in Week 1, scoring the most points amongst all teams (33) and while also allowing the fewest points to their opponent in the aforementioned Guardians (12). That’s a testament to the solid coaching from former Super Bowl-winning Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. As such, Houston also enters Week 2 with the best odds amongst all teams to win its respective matchup for the week.
