Last year, Xander Schauffele shot a decent -4 in this after posting a 72-71-69-72. Although Xander was 9 strokes off winner Max Homa, the favorite to win the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open is in excellent form leading up to this week’s tournament.
Schauffele finished tenth at The Sentry after scoring a 66-69-65-68 and -24. Then, the favorite in this finished third at The American Express after scoring 64-69-63-65. Schauffele’s -27 speaks to how well he’s hitting the ball.
At The American Express, Xander recorded 11 birdies and an eagle, with zero bogeys. If his sticks are as hot at the Farmers Insurance, the chalk should get it done.

Collin Morikawa has played in a single tournament this year, The Sentry at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii.
But although Collin hasn’t played a lot so far in 2024, he did show decent enough form at The Sentry to warrant a look to win the Farmers Insurance.
Morikawa finished fifth after shooting 65-67-70-65 on his way to a -25. At the 2023 Farmers Insurance, Collin was exceptional, posting a -10 and finishing 3 strokes behind winner Max Homa. Any improvement off The Sentry performance could lead to Morikawa lifting the trophy on Sunday.
2024 Farmers Insurance Open Third Pick
In last year’s Farmers Insurance, Max Homa beat Keegan Bradley by 2 strokes. Max posted a fantastic 68 first round and 66 fourth round. The 70 second round and 71 third round almost lost the tournament.
Homa played well at The Sentry, but he finished fourteenth. Couple that with the fact that Max had to rally in Round 4 to score the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open, and the defending champ is no better than the third pick on this list.
Of course, if you disagree, go for it because the 11-to-1 odds makes the defending champion playable.

Sahith Theegala missed the cut at the Sony Open in the last tournament played, which could be the reason he’s at 40-to-1 odds.
Throw out that tournament, and Theegala shows decent enough form to warrant a look. Sahith finished second at The Sentry after posting a 64-69-68-63.
