We’re taking a shot against Mystik Dan. The field is small. So in our trifecta play, we’re adding our top three choices to finish behind Tuscan Gold and pushing the All button.
If Mystik Dan bounces, and there’s a good chance he does, he could finish last in this race. If that happens, a horse like Mugatu or Uncle Heavy could finish third. Going all makes sense.

The Louisiana Derby third place finisher may have held off Catching Freedom and Honor Marie if he had seen them earlier in the stretch to his far outside and if he had changed leads earlier.
Tuscan Gold got by the horse that was in his sights. So, for sure, he’s worth. Gold is especially worth a look at the healthy 8/1 morning line odds. We’ll use Gold on top in all of our exotics.
Muth and Imagination are must uses. Baffert has targeted the Preakness Stakes the past couple of years since Churchill Downs banned him from running horses. Bob Baffert won the 2023 Preakness with National Treasure.
Catching Freedom ran a great Kentucky Derby. If he had gotten through the pack earlier, who knows? Maybe, Freedom rolls up to Mystik Dan, Sierra Leone, and Forever Young and wins the roses. Trainer Brad Cox gets them ready. So Catching Freedom is another necessary edition to the exacta.
