Hovland finished 7 strokes behind Scheffler and in third place in this last year. Viktor tends to bounce back after disappointing performances. If he does this week, it could be a big enough bounce back for a first place score.

Max Homa could be on the verge of a win. Max missed the cut at the WM Phoenix Open. Since then, he’s played excellent golf, scoring a sixteenth at the Genesis Invitational and then securing an eighth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Homa finished at -8 and tied for sixth at the 2023 The Players Championship. A similar effort could be enough for a victory in 2024.

The 2023 U.S. Open champ hadn’t been playing great but at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, Wyndham Clark the talent that led to the major title victory.
Wyndham finished second behind Scheffler at the Arnold Palmer. Clark shot a -5 at TPC-Sawgrass last year. If he improves this season, and he could because he got his sticks working last week, who knows? Give Palmer a big chance to outplay his odds.
