Scottie Scheffler is on the verge of a victory. Scottie has played well so far this season, scoring a fifth at the Sentry, a seventeenth at The American Express, and a sixth last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Last year, Scottie beat Nick Taylor by 2 strokes after shooting a -19. Defending champ Jon Rahm, who won’t play in this because he took the money at LIV Golf, at -14. If Scheffler is anywhere close to where he was last season, and it looks like he is, the defending champ takes this.
2024 WM Phoenix Open Second Pick
Max Homa bombed in last week’s tournament, the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Although Max made the cut, he finished a terrible sixty-six. The -2 was okay. But a second round 73 was unlike him.
It was particularly bad because Homa shot a 69 in the first round. Max doesn’t play two bad tournaments in a row. So he will bounce back in this.
Also, Homa finished fourteenth at the Sentry and thirteenth at the Farmers Insurance Open in the two tournaments before the Pebble Beach disaster. At the odds, Homa is worth a look.
2024 WM Phoenix Open Third Pick
Like Scheffler, Justin Thomas is on the verge of a win. The third place finish at The American Express and the sixth place finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am suggests Thomas can get it done in Phoenix this week.
But although Thoms can win, the odds are light. JT didn’t have a great 2023. So he still has something to prove. If the odds were higher, he’d be the top pick. So if you don’t mind the 10-to-1 odds, go for it.

2023 U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark offers overlay odds to make it back to back victories. Clark won the Pebble Beach last week after the PGA called off the fourth round.
He’s striking the ball great, and heads to the WM Phoenix Open with a ton of confidence. Wyndham shot a -10 in last year’s tournament. So he could get it done. The potential payout is fantastic. Pull the trigger is you think WC goes back to back.
