Why Bet on the Alabama Crimson Tide?

No. 16 Alabama (16-6, 8-1 SEC) is alone atop the SEC. The Tide are on a four-game winning streak overall, which started with the first Auburn win. The Tide destroyed a good Mississippi State team on Saturday, 99-67. Four Alabama players scored in double-figures, led by Sears’ 21 points – his 13th game of 20 or more points this season. Aaron Estrada added 15 points and eight rebounds, while freshmen Mouhamed Dioubate (14) and Jarin Stevenson (14) each recorded career-high points in the win.

The 99 points scored by Alabama marked the team’s 10th game this season of scoring 90-or-more in a game Alabama has won 14-straight SEC home games at Coleman, the longest winning streak since 1988. It was Bama’s eighth 30-point win over an SEC opponent under head coach Nate Oats.

“For a game when we didn’t shoot it particularly great, and didn’t get to the free throw line, we made a lot of other things go well. We’re getting our guys to play a little bit more aggressive, harder, and more assertive on defense. Overall, this is a really compliant group so when we make points that we need to improve on, they have done a pretty good job of building on it,” Oats said.

Sears is one of three players in Division I and the only Power 5 player who has 440 points, 85 assists, 85 rebounds and 50 three-pointers this season. Sears ranks No. 1 in the SEC in scoring (20.1 ppg), No. 4 in field goal percentage (52.3) and No. 8 in assists (3.9 apg). Alabama is one of three schools (Purdue and Wright State) in the country that has two players on its current roster that has scored at least 1,700 points throughout their career in Sears (1,797 points) and Aaron Estrada (1,758 points). The Crimson Tide own the No. 1 scoring offense in the country (89.9 ppg).

Why Bet on the Auburn Tigers?

Auburn (18-4, 7-2) trounced a good Ole Miss team on the road Saturday, 91-77, despite training by nine at halftime. Auburn started the second half on a 17-6 run and took its first lead of the game with a pair of free throws from K.D. Johnson at the 15:10 mark. The Tigers shot 73.3 percent (22-30) over the final 20 minutes and had 15 assists on 22 made field goals.

Broome, who was held scoreless in the first half, scored all 15 of his points in the second half and spearheaded a 10-2 run to help the Tigers pull away down the stretch. He finished second on the team in points and led the way with nine rebounds, seven assists and three blocks. In all, six Auburn players scored in double figures with Jaylin Williams (16), Broome (15), Chad Baker-Mazara (15), KD Johnson (11), Denver Jones (11) and Tre Donaldson (10). It was the first time six Tigers scored in double figures in an SEC game since 2022 against Georgia.

“That’s the best win of the year for us,” Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl said. Broome was named SEC Player of the Week and is on a 13-game double-digit scoring streak which includes five double-double performances during that stretch. He currently ranks second among active NCAA Division I career leaders in blocks (315) and fifth in double-doubles (55). Broome is one of four Power 5 players that is averaging over 15 points and eight rebounds this season. His 50 blocks this season rank No. 15 in Division I, and he is grabbing an SEC-best 8.8 rebounds per contest.

Auburn is one of 34 teams in the country and the only SEC team that is unbeaten at home this season (13-0). Auburn’s 14 game winning-streak at home is the 11th longest winning steak in Division I. The Tigers are 7-1 against ranked teams in Neville Arena (2010-present) and have won their last six home games between ranked teams.
