Bills vs. Patriots 2023 NFL Week 7 Odds, Preview & Pick
In one of the more lopsided matchups of the week, the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots meet for the first time this season for a pivotal AFC East clash. The Bills bounced back with a win last week that’s far from convincing, while the Patriots continue to circle down the drain. Will these two teams’ fortunes change after the dust settles in Foxborough on Sunday?

Why Bet on the Buffalo Bills?
In a week that saw the last two undefeated teams fall, the Buffalo Bills were in line to be the next massive upset in Week 6 during their Sunday Night Football affair against the New York Giants. Luckily, the Bills prevailed with a narrow 14-9 victory at home following a gritty, low-scoring contest.
Two passing touchdowns from Josh Allen were enough to dispatch the disappointing Giants, but Buffalo’s main man also had a disappointing performance himself. Allen completed just 19 of his 30 passes for 169 yards with those two passing TDs and one costly interception. But even with that dud showing in Week 6, the Bills still have the fifth-best offense in terms of yardage and third in scoring, averaging 28.8 points per contest.
Buffalo also possesses the third-best scoring defense (14.8 points allowed per game) despite facing a ton of adversity with key players suffering injuries of late. Taking care of a pathetic Patriots offense is an easy task for this unit, but the Bills as a team have got to clean tier mistakes up, as their nine penalties committed last Sunday night gave the Giants more opportunities to stage an unlikely upset.
Why Bet on the New England Patriots?
The New England Patriots had a chance to redeem themselves from last season’s failed (and meme’d upon) lateral against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. Unfortunately, the Patriots also failed to get their revenge, as the 31-17 loss to the Raiders marks their third consecutive loss.
New England has scored just a total of 20 points across their last three outings, with last Sunday’s defeat actually being their highest-scoring performance since Week 2. Struggling quarterback Mac Jones was held without a TD for the third straight game, with Jones throwing his fifth interception during this miserable stretch as well.
The Pats’ defense, once its bread and butter, has also underwhelmed along with the offense. New England has the fewest takeaways with just three, and their minus-8 turnover differential is also the worst in the league. All things considered, Bill Belichick’s gang is in for a long season, and not even the friendly confines of Gilette Stadium will aid their cause when they take on the enraged Bills this Sunday afternoon.

Bills vs. Patriots Expert Betting Predictions
There’s simply no reason to go against the Bills in this AFC East showdown, regardless of Buffalo’s odds against the spread possibly reaching the double digits before the working week concludes. The Patriots are a total mess with nothing going right and are mostly thinking about next year’s draft already, whereas the Bills have more to lose as their race for the division title along with the Dolphins and Jets intensify.
