Consistent showing from Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum went cold in Game 3 of the series. He felt the heat of the opponent’s defense as they tried to hold him back. Nevertheless, he’s been the talisman of Boston’s offense since the playoff started. Tatum torched the Nets for 29.5 points and outplayed Kevin Durant after sweeping one of the Eastern Conference’s top dogs.

After a quiet Game 3, Tatum redeemed himself right away and scored 30 points. If he continues the pace in Game 5, we look forward to results that could go down the wire. The following games will tell if Tatum is back in attack mode and dropping buckets. If he could provide a variety of shots that could wear down the Bucks’ defense, the Celtics have a chance at another road win on Wednesday night.

Defense wins games

Boston’s defense is its focal point, but it was their offense that led the team to an important Game 4 victory. The Celtics lit the floor up and scored 43 points in the final quarter, hitting 16 of 19 field-goal attempts, four of five attempts from downtown, and a perfect score from the line. Boston averaged 1.9 points per possession in the period, and the team has been imposing offensively in the playoffs.

The Celtics average 57.8% true shooting and 28.3% offensive rebound rate in the playoffs. These numbers played crucial roles in their postseason campaign. On top of all that, the Celtics exhibit quality ball movement and rank second in the NBA playoffs in assisting on 65.6% of field goals, while converting over 82% of free-throw attempts.

The Al Horford show

Veteran big man Al Horford stepped up for the Celtics in Game 4. He is the best player on the roster, following an unforgettable night that helped Boston level the series. The Celtics trailed the seven-game series 2-1 into Game 4 but pulled off an incredible performance at the Fiserv Forum.

The five-time NBA All-Star put on a show. Teammate Marcus Smart was quick to praise Horford. He brought depth to the lineup and ended up being pivotal to the Celtics’ much-needed victory in Game 4. He played well on both ends of the court and was able to contain Giannis and the Bucks in the paint. Horford displayed offensive prowess and closed his account with 30 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

Ultimately, grabbing a road win should be significantly easier for the side if Horford can use the momentum to propel himself in Game 5.
