Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week (July 21st, 2022)

Hinckley, Minnesota – ESPN+

  • When: July 23rd, 2022

Guido Vianello vs. Rafael Rios

Vianello versus Rios should be an ultra-entertaining event. Guido is 8-0-1 with 8 knockout wins. Vianello hasn’t fought since last June, but he’s got enough power to end this early. Rafael is 11-3 with 8 knockout or technical knockout wins. The record sparkles. But in his last, Carlos Negron sent Rios to the canvas. Not only that, but the fight happened in 2020, which means Rios will enter this off a longer layoff than Vianello’s. The likely chalk wins via TKO or KO.

Boxing Betting Pick: Guido Vianello

Javier Martinez vs. Pachino Hill

Martinez versus Hill is a nice matchup between two undefeated, young, boxers. Pachino Hill is 7-0-1 with 6 knockout or technical knockout victories. Javier Martinez is 6-0 with 2 knockout wins. Martinez will try to use his jab and pile up points. Hill will be more aggressive and try to land power punches. The boxer often has the edge, but these two are just starting out. Hill’s power should be the difference.

Boxing Betting Pick: Pachino Hill

Haven Brady Jr. vs. Aaron Echeveste

Brady Jr. versus Echeveste is a showcase fight. Haven is 6-0 with 4 knockout victories. The 20-year-old prospect has power, speed, decent footwork, you name it. So the reason to match Brady Jr. up with 6-7 Echeveste is so Haven can put on a show. He won’t lose the fight. The question is how long Echeveste lasts. The for sure moneyline underdog hasn’t suffered a knockout loss since 2019. So if you can find odds on this going the distance and ending in a Brady Jr. lopsided win, go for it.

Boxing Betting Pick: Haven Brady Jr.

Gabriel Flores Jr. vs. Giovanni Cabrera

Flores Jr. versus Cabrera is the co-main event. It makes sense because Cabrera has a fantastic 20-0 record with 7 knockout or technical knockout victories. Gabriel Flores Jr.’s record is 21-1. Flores Jr. followed up a 2021 loss to Luis Alberto Lopez with a majority decision victory over Abraham Montoya this past March. Cabrera beat Elias Damian Araujo this past May. The likely favorite also beat Rene Tellez Giron in January. Giovanni loves to fight. He has no fear and figures to do what it takes for the decision win.

Boxing Betting Pick: Giovanni Cabrera

Joet Gonzalez vs. Isaac Dogboe // WBC International Featherweight Title

Gonzalez versus Dogboe is a fantastic matchup. Joet has won 25 and lost twice. He’s knocked out or forced his opponent to quit 15 times. Last October, Gonzalez lost a unanimous decision to Emanuel Navarrete. The loss didn’t deter Gonzalez because in his next bout he beat Jeo Santisima via ninth round TKO.

Since back-to-back losses to Navarrete in 2018 and 2019, Isaac Dogboe has won three straight: an eight-round technical knockout of Chris Avalos in 2020, a majority decision over Adam Lopez in June 2021, and a majority decision over Christopher Diaz last November.

Dogboe, like during most of his career, gives up height and reach advantages. Most of the time, Dogboe finds a way to neutralize the physical advantages, but Joet Gonzalez is an excellent boxer. He won’t allow Isaac to land enough power punches for Dogboe to win. Gonzalez gets the nod.

Boxing Betting Pick: Joet Gonzalez
