Olajide Olatunji vs. Tommy Fury

KSI versus Fury happens in Manchester, England, which is why it’s the first bout we’re handicapping. Olatunji, that’s KSI, is 5-0-1. The draw came against Logan Paul. Then in the rematch, Olatunji beat Paul via split-decision.

Tommy Fury is 9-0. TNT, as his fans and brother calls him, doesn’t have much power. Fury has stopped just 4 of his opponents. But although Tommy doesn’t knock out a lot of his opponents, he does frustrate them with excellent boxing skills.

Jake Paul knocked Fury down in their bout, which is why Tommy had to settle for a split-decision victory. Fury, though, was winning the fight easily before the knockdown. On Saturday, Tommy, a professional boxer, should have no trouble against the YouTube star turned boxer that is KSI. Olatunji has power, but he doesn’t have the skills to prevent Fury from countering every time Olatunji advances. Fury wins.

Alimkhanuly vs. Gualtieri – Fort Bend Epicenter, Rosenberg, TX (ESPN)

Nahir Albright vs. Keyshawn Davis

16-2 Nahir Albright attempts to take down the man that many believe ends up winning the lightweight title, 9-0 Keyshawn Davis. Albright hasn’t lost since a unanimous decision defeat to Jamaine Ortiz that happened back in 2022.

Since then, Albright has won 2 straight over solid competitors Estivan Falcao and Carlos Balderas. But although Nahir Albright is a solid boxer, he doesn’t have much shot versus Keyshawn Davis.

The -2500 chalk in this has boxing skills for days. He is excellent at setting up his power shots and is a great counter puncher. Albright loses for sure.

Janibek Alimkhanuly vs. Vincenzo Gualtieri // WBO, IBF World Middleweight Title

The underdog in this, Vincenzo Gualtieri, has yet to taste defeat. Gualtieri has a 21-0-1 record.

The draw came in a 2020 bout against Thomas Piccirillo. Gualtieri has boxing skills for sure, but he doesn’t have a ton of power since he’s only stopped 7 of his opponents before the final bell.

On Saturday, Gualtieri fights who many believe is the best middleweight in the world, Janibek Alimkhanuly. The -1200 favorite is 14-0 with 9 stoppage wins. Alimkhanuly has massive advantages in this not only in boxing skill but also in power. Look for a TKO or KO prop before backing Janibek on the money line.

Tszyu vs. Mendoza – Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia (Showtime)

Sam Goodman vs. Miguel Flores

This looks like a way for 15-0 Sam Goodman to add another victory to his record. Goodman fights in front of his country folk. So there’s no way the promoters of Saturday’s Queensland card would put Goodman in danger.

Sometimes, though, an attempt to evade danger doesn’t always work. On Saturday, Goodman faces a decent boxer in 25-4-1 Miguel Flores. The underdog in this comes off a majority draw versus Abner Mares.

If Flores hadn’t given up the first two to three rounds, he may have won outright. Flores has a terrific chin and Goodman doesn’t have much knockout power. Sam should win, but the -2000 odds make the fave unplayable. Taking a swing on Flores makes sense.

Brian Mendoza vs. Tim Tszyu // WBO World, Interim WBC Super Welterweight Title

22-2 Brian Mendoza is a good fighter. Earlier this year, Mendoza caught Sebastian Fundora with an excellent right that ended up ending Fundora’s night in the seventh. Fundora was the favorite in the bout. So Mendoza is used to being the underdog. Mendoza showed a lot against Fundora. So we must take him seriously. However, the matchup with Tim Tszyu is different than the one he had against Fundora. Because of Fundora’s size, arm length, and slow feet, Mendoza could land shots. That won’t happen against Tszyu, who has excellent defense. Tszyu also has more power. Look for Tim to beat the challenger via TKO or KO.
