Why Bet on the Denver Broncos?
It wasn’t pretty, but the Denver Broncos hung on just long enough to prevail with an 11-10 home victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. Denver has won two straight games by a combined eight points, and this is despite the team scoring just a total of 27 points across those two victories.
Something’s not right with former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson, who completed 20 of 33 passes for merely 184 passing yards without a passing score against San Fran. Wilson is completing just 59 percent of his passes this season and has not had a multiple-TD outing yet. In turn, the Broncos are tied with the Colts as the worst scoring team in the NFL, averaging just 14.3 points per contest.
Thankfully, Denver’s defense has been quite spectacular and has bailed out its inept offense time and again. The Broncos’ D is currently ranked third in the league in yards allowed (251.3 YAPG) and second in points given up per game (12.0 PAPG). Will this stellar stop unit be able to weather a rather potent Vegas offense as the action shifts to Sin City this Sunday?
Why Bet on the Las Vegas Raiders?
After suffering a brutal overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3, the Las Vegas Raiders came up one scoring drive short of winning their first game of the 2022 NFL season once more. This time, they failed to rally from a huge lead against Tennessee in Week 4, as the Titans hung on to a narrow 24-22 win in Nashville.
Derek Carr had a mixed bag of an outing, going 26-of-44 for 303 passing yards and a pair of TD passes albeit with a critical interception thrown as well. Vegas’ ground game also had a decent showing averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry. However, the game script of falling into a 14-point hole at halftime didn’t allow the team to run the ball as often as it would’ve liked. The real knock on this Raiders team continues to be its lackluster defense, which ranks in the bottom-third of the league allowing an average of 25.7 points per game to their opponents.
Poor coaching decisions also factor into the Silver and Black’s dismal start, which is why many Raiders fans are starting to call for head coach Josh McDaniels to be axed already. McDaniels has not had a winning season as a head coach, with his best performance dating back to his debut head-coaching job in Denver in 2009 wherein the Broncos finished with a middling 8-8 record.

- The Broncos are 1-6 in the last seven road games (SU/ATS).
- The Broncos have lost four straight meetings against Las Vegas to date (1-3 ATS).
- The totals went under in five of Denver’s last six road games.
- The Raiders are 2-4 in the last six home games (SU/ATS).
- The Raiders are 4-4 against their division rivals dating back to the previous season (3-5 ATS).
- The totals went over in four of the last six Raiders games against teams from the AFC West.
Broncos vs. Raiders Expert Betting Predictions
Based on records alone, it appears that this should be an easy win for the visiting Broncos. However, Denver’s offense has not looked good whatsoever. As such, the Raiders are rightfully slight favorites to win this upcoming divisional matchup considering that they’ve owned the Broncos over their last few meetings against one another. Not to mention that Denver lost its first three games of the season by a single scoring possession, whereas the Broncos also won their two games just by a combined eight points against the lowly Texans and the injury-riddled Niners.
