Panthers QB Bryce Young Chances to Win 2024 NFL MVP

This isn’t going to happen. If you decide to take a flyer on Bryce because of the exorbitant odds, there’s no shame in doing so. But it won’t happen. The true odds of Young winning the NFL MVP are likely closer to +30000 than +15000.

The reason is that the Panthers must win their division and be one of the top teams in the NFC. Don’t expect a Houston Texans type turnaround because Carolina spent so much on acquiring the rights to Young that they mortgaged the rest of the positions on the team. Young will improve, but he won’t come close to winning NFL MVP.

Panthers Dave Canales Chances to win NFL Coach of the Year

Unlike Young winning NFL MVP, Dave Canales winning NFL Coach of the Year is a possibility. The reason is that Carolina could potentially finish with an 8-9 or possibly even 9-8 record.

The Panthers have an okay defense. So any improvement along the offensive line, which must give Young time this season, will be a boon to Carolina’s chances. Any improvement.

Then again, Carolina’s schedule is tough for a team that shouldn’t win more than 5 games. In fact, it’s downright daunting because the Panthers must play the Falcons, Bucs, and Saints twice. Also, KC, the Raiders, the Broncos, and the Bolts are on the schedule. So Canales has his worked cut out for him. Dave Canales won’t win NFL Coach of the Year.

Carolina Panthers to Chances to Win the 2024 NFC South Division

The odds are at +1100 for a reason. Even at +1100 odds, Carolina is an underdog to win the NFC South. Atlanta is a solid team. The Buccaneers, the defending champions, return most of their 2023 squad, including Baker Mayfield.

The New Orleans Saints should be much better in Derek Carr’s second season in the Big Easy. The NFC South doesn’t boast spectacular teams, but the Falcons, Saints, and Buccaneers are solid. The Panthers won’t win the NFC South.

This is a flyer bet. If you bet on the Panthers because you are a fan, there’s no harm in that. But if you make this play because you believe Young and Carolina improved enough to actually beat the Cowboys, Eagles, Buccaneers, Packers, Rams, Falcons and 49ers and the NFC, you will be disappointed.

The fair odds on the Panthers winning the NFC are closer to +15000 or, maybe, even +20000. So, no, the Panthers won’t win the NFC.

The schedule is too daunting and the Panthers roster is too weak for Carolina to make the playoffs. So go No.

The schedule is much tougher than it should be for the worst team in the league. The Panthers play the AFC West, which include the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Panthers also play the NFC East, which includes Dallas, the Eagles, Washington, and the New York Giants. A win over the Giants is possible. Home victories over the Falcons and Saints are also possible. A win against the Bucs at home might happen. 5 wins feels like the limit. Go under the Panthers’ 5.5 wins total.

Carolina Panthers Super Bowl 49 Prediction

The defense should be okay, but the offense is going to struggle big time. The biggest issue is the schedule. The Bengals are also on Carolina’s schedule.

So are the Bears and Arizona Cardinals, a couple of teams that improved big time from last season. So although the Panthers will be better in 2024 than they were in 2023, they won’t be nearly good enough to challenge for the Super Bowl.
