Why Bet on the Los Angeles Chargers?
It was a heartbreaking Week 2 for the Los Angeles Chargers, who were on the losing end of their overtime thriller on the road against the Tennesee Titans, 27-24. The Chargers gave up an early 11-point lead in the second quarter that led to a back-and-forth affair until the extra period, where the Bolts would receive the opening possession in OT only to go three-and-out and see the Titans go on a game-winning field goal drive.
With starting running back Austin Ekeler out of commission due to an ankle injury, it was up to Justin Herbert to take matters through the air more than ever. Herbert went off for 305 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, although he only completed 27 of 41 passes. Top wideout Keenan Allen was electric, as the savvy veteran hauled in eight catches for 111 receiving yards and a pair of trips to the end zone.
Although the Chargers’ offense has been up to par, the same could not be said about their defense, as they’re dead last in total yards allowed to their opponents (438.5 YAPG). On the bright side, they’ve yet to turn the ball over this season, so a sound offensive performance may get them back on the winning track.
Why Bet on the Minnesota Vikings?
There’s just something off with the Minnesota Vikings that’s hard to pin down. In Week 2, they lost to the defending NFC champs the Philadelphia Eagles, 34-28, in a game that was not as close as what the final score would suggest. Minnesota fell into a 20-point hole in the third quarter, making the team’s effort at a late comeback futile.
Similar to the Chargers, the Vikings have an amazing offense that is bound to win them some games sooner rather than later. Kirk Cousins erupted for 364 passing yards and four TDs, while stud wideout Justin Jefferson remains hot as well with team-highs of 11 receptions and 159 receiving yards. Sadly, the Vikes’ rushing attack remains flat with just eight carries against the Eagles, although they did have to abandon the running game in the second half needing a huge comeback through the air.
And like Los Angeles, Minnesota’s offense has been less than impressive. They’re one of only eight teams to allow an average of 27 or more points to their opponents this season and have the worst turnover differential in the league right now at minus-6. That being said, expect a high-scoring battle in Minny this weekend as these two glass-cannon franchises collide.

- The totals went over in four of Minnesota’s last five home games.
Chargers vs. Vikings Expert Betting Predictions
It’s definitely a virtual toss-up between two high-octane offenses with little to no defense to back themselves. We’ll go with the Vikings to get their first win of the season before the Chargers do, but only because the Vikings are at home where they’ve been a more reliable bet to win even against the spread.
