Bears QB Caleb Williams Chances to Win NFL 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year

Justin Fields improved last season because he played behind a solid offensive line. For a rookie quarterback to succeed, the line must be better than solid.

So how good is the Bears’ offensive line? It’s up there. Braxton Jones, the left tackle, is great. But the real key to Williams success is right tackle Darnell Wright. The 2023 top pick can play multiple positions. So if disaster strikes, Wright is flexible.

Disaster shouldn’t strike, though. The line is deep. Running back D’Andre swift is one of the better backs in the league. Also, Williams gets to throw to three solid wide receivers in DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and rookie Rome Odunze. Back Caleb Williams to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Bears Matt Eberflus Chances to win NFL Coach of the Year

The odds on Eberflus make him a solid pick. Eberflus is a defensive-minded coach. But like most smart defensive minded head coaches, Eberflus is going to be hands-off when it comes to the offense.

Doing so will allow Shane Waldron, the offensive coordinator, to get his talented unit together in time to rough up teams like the Titans, Colts, Panthers, and Jags, which the Bears play in four of their first five games. A 4-1 record heading into their bye puts Chicago on the track to the playoffs, which means Matt Eberflus is a great pick to win NFL Coach of the Year.

The Bears have the talent to win the NFC North. However, two Super Bowl contenders, the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, also play in the division.

As much talent as Williams has, he’s a rookie. Jared Goff at Detroit and Jordan Love at Green Bay have the experience. So the Bears will come up short, winning the NFC North.

The odds are decent on the Bears. But the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions are two of the best teams in the league. Both play in the NFC.

Then there’s the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Atlanta Falcons, all of which boast veteran quarterbacks that have proven capable. Again, Williams has potential, but he’s a rookie. The Bears won’t win the NFC.

The answer here is yes. The Bears should enter their bye with a 4-1 record. Then, the Bears will win 6 games after their bye at home versus Green Bay, against New England, against Arizona, against Minnesota twice, and versus Seattle.

Chicago should win 10 games, which will be enough to make the playoffs.

Unless the Bears implode, 9 wins seem like a sure thing. The schedule is much easier for Chicago than it is for Carolina, the worst team in the league.

So although it’s never fun to lay -160, it’s tough to go under 8.5 wins. Williams must be a disaster at quarterback, and it’s hard to see that happening with such a loaded wide receiver room.

Chicago Bears Super Bowl 49 Prediction

Although Chicago shouldn’t win the Super Bowl, once they make the playoffs, anything can happen. The Bears have enough talent on both sides of the ball, and Matt Eberflus is a good enough coach for Chicago to succeed.
