Why Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?
Despite the stunning 30-24 upset at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers, the Kansas City Chiefs have still looked strong in defeat. Kansas City lost back-to-back games for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era but only by a combined margin of seven points against the Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens.
Mahomes was flustered all afternoon by what Los Angeles’ defense was throwing his way. The former Super Bowl MVP completed just 27 of 44 passes for 260 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Thankfully, KC got Clyde Edwards-Helaire going on the ground, with the second-year running back cracking 100 rushing yards for the first time this season on 17 carries.
On the other hand, the Chiefs’ defense is allowing an average of 31.7 points per game to their opponents; something that the Eagles offense should take note of ahead of their clash on Sunday.
Why Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles?
The Philadelphia Eagles have been fairly competitive through the first two weeks. Unfortunately, they were simply outclassed by NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night, 41-21, for their second consecutive loss of the season.
The Eagles’ defense allowed just an average of 11.5 points across their first two games. However, that stop unit was humbled by Dallas’ own D, which forced two turnovers to just one by Philly. Second-year QB Jalen Hurts was rattled that evening, throwing two costly picks despite racking up 326 passing yards and a pair of passing TDs.
It’s time for the Eagles to get their running game going as well, as they only ran the ball 12 times for 64 rushing yards against the Cowboys. Hurts had not turned the ball over until Week 3, and there’s only so much that the Oklahoma product can handle on his own without a serviceable run game.
Chiefs vs. Eagles Betting Trends
- The Chiefs won 11 consecutive road games before losing to Baltimore in Week 2. They went 6-5-1 against the spread during this 12-game stretch.
- The Chiefs are 7-1 in their last eight games against teams from the NFC (3-4-1 ATS), with the defeat being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ title-winning showdown at the Super Bowl.
- The totals have gone over in five of Kansas City’s last seven games in general.
- The Eagles are 1-3 in their last four home games (3-1 ATS).
- The Eagles are 0-5-1 in their last six contests against AFC teams (1-5 ATS).
- The totals have gone under in three of the Eagles’ last five games in Philly.
Chiefs vs. Eagles Expert Betting Predictions
This is the opportune moment for the Chiefs to regain their confidence against a young, developing Philly squad. On the other hand, the Eagles have been covering the spread at home of late and their offense still appears capable of standing toe-to-toe with KC’s own assault. That being said, a mere seven-point spread is something that the Eagles can likely conquer even against the defending AFC champions.
